Answer with explanation:

The coordinates of vertices of triangle ABC is not important for this question.

It is also not important in which quadrant the triangle ABC is lying to answer this question.

If the ΔABC is dilated by a factor of ,\frac{1}{2} to obtain ΔA'B'C' having center of dilation at the origin.

When Dilation takes place,

1. ΔABC→ (Pre Image) ~ ΔA'B'C'→(Image)

2. Shape does not change but size changes and size of image( ΔABC) will be smaller than Size of Preimage( ΔA'B'C').

3. Sides of two triangles that is image and Preimage are proportional, =\frac{1}{2},

\frac{OA}{OA'}=\frac{2}{1}

→OA=2 × OA'

OA'=\frac{OA}{2}

A ball is hurled in the air such that its horizontal (x) and vertical (y) shifts are given by the functions x(t) = 20t and y(t)
Viefleur [7K]

x(t) = 20t

y(t) = 40t - 5t^2

Since we are only interested in comparing the two at time t = 5 seconds, we plug in 5 everywhere we see the variable t and then compare x and y

x(5) = 20(5) becomes x(5) = 100

y(5) = 40(5) - 5(5)^2 becomes y(5) = 200 - 125 and then y(5) = 75

The ratio of y to x can be expressed as: y/x, so we can say the ratio is equal to 75/100 or 0.75

Answer: 0.75

What is 96\3 as a decimal please help thanks
spayn [35]
3 goes into 96 32 times, so 96/3=32. There is no decimal (unless you insist on including one, then it'd be 32.0) because 3 goes into 96 perfectly.

If you can buy 1⁄3 of a box of chocolates for 6 dollars, how much can you purchase for 4 dollars?
alukav5142 [94]

Answer:

2/9 boxes.

Step-by-step explanation:

6 / 1 / 3 = 4 / b

Cross multiply the two

6b = 4/3

Multiply 1/6 on each side

B = 4 /18

It can be reduced to 2/9.

what is the value of y in the solution to the following system of equations? (5 points) 2x y = −4 5x 3y = −6
TiliK225 [7]
2x+y=-4
5x+3y=-6

multiply first equaton by -5 and second by 2 then add them

-10x-5y=20
<u>10x+6y=-12 +</u>
0x+1y=8

y=8

the y value is 8
