Answer: (3,-2) as the solution, formulas given in question

Step-by-step explanation:

the formulas are y = x/3 - 3 and y = -x + 1

set these equal to each other to get

x/3 - 3 = -x + 1

4x/3 = 4

x = 3

so you get y = x/3 - 3 = 3/3 - 3 = -2

so the solution is (3,-2)

The population of city is 2500 if the number of males is 240 more than females how many males and females are there in the city?
Blizzard [7]
There are 1130 females. There are 1370 males. What I did was take 2500 and subtracted 240 from it. I got 2260 and then divided that number by 2 and got the number of females. Then I took that number and added 240 to it and got the number of males.
