Answer:

η = 2.57%

Explanation:

Given:

Output power of the steam power plant, P(out) = 200 MW

Consumption of coal, m = 700 tons/h = (700 × 10³)/3600 kg/s= 194.44 kg/s

Heating capacity of the coal, Cv = 40000 kJ/kg

now,

Input power,  P(in) = mCv

or

P(in) =  194.44 kg/s × 40000 = 7777.77 MW

thus,

efficiency, η = P(out)/P(in) = (200 MW) / (7777.77 MW) = 0.02571

or

η = 2.57%

In what way is a touch screen similar to a CCD? In what way is it different?
kupik [55]
A charge-coupled device (CCD) is a light-sensitive integrated circuit that captures images by converting photons to electrons.

A touch screen is a computer display screen that is also an input device. The screens are sensitive to pressure; a user interacts with the computer by touching pictures or words on the screen.

The similarity is the sensitivity.
The difference is CCD scans or ‘takes images’, whereas touch-screen is where a user interacts with the software.

Hope this helps!

A 1500 kg tractor pulls a 750 kg trailer north and applies a 2250 N force on it. What is the force on the tractor?
Masja [62]

Answer:

law of Action and Reaction     F = 2250 N

Explanation:

The tractor and the trailer are two bodies that interact, therefore, by the law of Action and Reaction, the force that one applies on the other is equal to the force that the second body (trailer) applies on the first (tractor), but with opposite direction

          F = 2250 N

directed from trailer to tractor

Show all your work clearly on the scratch paper) Two in-phase loudspeakers that emit sound with the same frequency are placed al
Darya [45]

Answer:

Explanation:

The speed of sound in air to be 343 m/s.

Given:

distance 'd' = 5 m

L = 12 m

It can be concluded that path difference must be equal to half of the wavelength when person is observing destructive interference'y' at 1 m distance from the equidistant position

Since

λ/2 = yd/L

λ/2 = (1 x 5)/12

λ = 0.833m

Frequency of the sound is given by,

f = v / λ => 343 / 0.833

f=411.6 Hz
