Chemistry

All forms of energy tend to flow from place of higher concentration towards the lower concentration. A cool object is at lower energy and a heated object is at higher energy state.

When two objects at different temperatures will be brought into contact, the energy (in form of heat) will flow from body at high temperature(warm object) towards the body at low temperature(cool object) till the point both objects are at same energy level and hence the same temperature.

Lithium metal reacts with nitrogen gas to form lithium nitride. identify the balanced reaction that describes this process
Arlecino [84]

Lithium metal reacts with nitrogen gas to form lithium nitride the balanced chemical equation will be 6Li + N₂ → 2Li₃N.

What is a balanced chemical reaction?

In a balanced chemical reaction, the number of moles that are present at the side of the reactant must be always equal to the side of product formation this is known as a balanced chemical equation.

The balanced chemical reaction will be 6Li + N₂ → 2Li₃N.

Here 6 moles of lithium is reacting with one nitrogen but as it is in gaseous state it is N₂ after reacting with lithium it will give two moles

Therefore, balanced equation will be 6Li + N₂ → 2Li₃N

Answer:

Chemical reactions takes place

Explanation:

Chemical energy stored in bonds of chemical compound are released when chemical reactions takes place.

Chemical energy is a form of potential energy that is found in chemical bonds.

 • When chemical reactions occur, bonds are broken and formed again.
 • The process of breaking and forming new bonds releases chemical energy.
 • In this manner most chemical reactions are often accompanied by energy changes
 • The energy changes is due to the formation of new bonds.
