The local elections are being held in Xavier’s town next Tuesday. Xavier is unsure whether or not he will vote. He does not want

to read up on the candidates, and he does not care who is mayor. What advice would you give Xavier to help him understand how important it is to be a responsible citizen and vote in local elections?
A. All laws are made at the state level, so Xavier is right not to be too concerned with local or city elections.

B. Xavier should not vote because he believes his ideas will win even if he doesn’t participate.

C. It is important to show your patriotism by voting even if you do not know anything about the candidates.

D. Local lawmakers can affect many aspects of Xavier’s life, from the taxes he pays on his house to where he can park his car.

Answer:

The correct answers is letter D.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since Xavier doesn't want to vote, it would be a good idea to mention him how the local elections can affect him on his daily activities, such as the taxes he will have to pay or the places he can use and how he must use them; this way Xavier would feel more involved into the elections process and he might be convinced to vote.

Well if the perimeter is 36in, then divide by 6 sides (the prefix hex- means six) to get 6. Don't forget your unit of measurement to be 6in of each side. It would be nice to have the picture though so if you could suply me with that it would help out.

Answer:

<u>Given function:</u>

  • f(x) = (-x + 2)(x + 1)(x +2)

<u>We can rewrite it as:</u>

  • f(x) = - (x - 2)(x + 1)(x +2)

<u>Zeros are:</u>

  • - (x - 2)(x + 1)(x +2) = 0
  • x - 2 = 0 ⇒ x = 2
  • x + 1 = 0 ⇒ x = -1
  • x + 2 = 0 ⇒ x = -2

As leading coefficient is negative the function is decreasing.

As the function is of degree 3, it is odd.

<u>Considering the above two factors we can define the shape of the graph:</u>

  • It is decreasing function with one local minimum and one local maximum.

<em>See the graph and zero's reflected.</em>
