Answer: Option (D) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

Specific heat is the amount of heat needed by a unit mass of the given substance to raise its temperature.

More closely the atoms are bonded together more will be the specific heat required by them.

Therefore, we can conclude that the specific heat capacities of similar substances differ because of differences in property of forces between the molecules.

I think the correct answer is option D. The specific heat capacities of similar substances differ because of differences in forces between molecules. Specific heat is the amount of heat absorb or released by a substance to change the temperature to one degree Celsius. Every substance have different structures thus they also have different ways of storing energy and ways to break the bonds they have.

A fugitive tries to hop on a freight train traveling at a constant speed of 5.5 m/s. Just as an empty box car passes him, the fu
stiks02 [169]
Th equations to be used here are the following:

a = (v - v₀)/t
x = v₀t + 0.5at²

The speed of the fugitive is the sum of his own speed plus the speed of the train. Thus,
v₀ = 0 + 5.5 m/s = 5.5 m/s
v = 8 m/s + 5.5 m/s = 13.5 m/s

a.) We use the first equation to determine time
2.5 m/s² = (13.5 m/s - 5.5 m/s)t
Solving for t,
t = 3.2 seconds

b.) We use the answer in a) and the 2nd equation:

x = (5.5 m/s)(3.2 s) + 0.5(2.5 m/s²)(3.2 s)²
x = 30.4 meters

Consider an electromagnetic wave where the electric field of an electromagnetic wave is oscillating along the z-axis and the mag
aalyn [17]

Answer:

The wave will be travelling in the y-axis

Explanation:

An e-m wave has a spatially varying electric field that is always associated with a magnetic field that changes over time and vice versa. The electric field and the magnetic field oscillates perpendicularly to each other, and together form a wave that travels in a perpendicular direction to the magnetic and the electric field in space. The movement of the e-m wave through space is usually away from the source where it is generated. So, if the electric field travels in the z-axis, and the magnetic field travels through along the x-axis, then the e-m wave generated will travel in the y-axis direction.
