Answer:

V = 7.5 m/s

Explanation:

Projectile motion is a two dimensional motion experienced by an object or particle that is subjected near the surface of the Earth and moves along a curved path under the influence of gravity only. The path followed by projectile motion is called projectile path.

As the cat followed the projectile path, and we know that in projectile motion the horizontal component of the velocity remains constant throughout its motion. So there is no acceleration along horizontal path.

Given data :

Height = y = 0.65 m

Horizontal distance = x = 2.7 m

Gravitational acceleration = g = 9.81 m/s²

Velocity when cat slid off the table = V = ?

As the cat slides off horizontally, So there is no vertical component of velocity or vertical component of velocity is zero.

Using 2nd equation of motion

y = 0.5 gt²

0.65 = 0.5*9.8*t²

t² = 0.1326

t = 0.36 s

Velocity when cat slid off the table = V = x / t

V = 2.7 / 0.36

V = 7.5 m/s

Atmospheric pressure decreases with increment in height.<br> give reason
jekas [21]

Answer:

pressure=height × density×acc due to gravity

so

pressire is directly proportional to height hence it decreses with decrease in height

here air column height is measured upside down so decreases witn increment

A new planet is discovered that has twice the Earth's mass and twice the Earth's radius. On the surface of this new planet a per
kirza4 [7]

Answer:

option B

Explanation:

Radius of new planet,R' = 2R

Mass of the earth, M' = 2 M

R and M is the Radius and Mass of the earth.

Weight of the person on earth = 500 N

Weight of the person in the new planet = ?

We know acceleration due to gravity is calculated by using formula

   g = \dfrac{GM}{R^2}

now, acceleration due to gravity on the new planet

   g' = \dfrac{GM'}{R'^2}

   g' = \dfrac{G(2M)}{(2R)^2}

   g' =\dfrac{1}{2} \dfrac{GM}{R^2}

   g' =\dfrac{g}{2}

here acceleration due to gravity is half in new planet, so weight will also be half on the new planet.

Weight on the new plane is equal to \dfrac{500}{2} = 250 N

correct answer is option B
