Answer:

They are any number in front of a variable so like 4x 7y or 8z. 4, 7 and 8 are the coefficients. A number by itself is a constant. For example 3, 1 and 9 are constants.

Coefficients are the numbers beside a variable. They are what the variable is multiplied by. Examples are the 12 in 12x or the 4 in 4a.

-About common core, lucky. Common core is absolutely unnecessary and only prepared me for geometry proofs. I don't know if that is the common core version of coefficients or not, but it wasn't confusing to me so it probably wasn't common core.

aivan3 [116]

Answer:

Times

first part   x  =  1,33 h       second part  y =  0,66 h

distances  d₁ (first part ) d₁ = 4 miles    d₂  (second part )  d₂ = 0,999 miles

Step-by-step explanation: IMPORTANT NOTE: EVEN PROBLEM STATEMENT DID NOT ASK ANY QUESTION WE WILL ASSUME QUESTION ARE: LENGTH ( IN MILES ) AND SPENT TIME  OF EACH PART OF THE HIKE

We formulate a two-equation system according to:

x = time for the first part

y = time for the second part

then      x  +  y  =  2           or      y = 2 - x

And 3 m/h * x(h)   +  1,5 m/h * y (h)  = 5

3*x  +  1,5*y  = 5

3*x + 1,5 * ( 2 - x )  = 5

3*x  + 3  - 1,5*x  =  5

1,5*x  = 2

x  = 2/1,5 (h)

x = 1,33 (h)

And  y  =  2 -  1,33       y  =  0,66 (h)

Distances are

first part  d₁ = 3*1,33          d₁ =  4 miles

second part  d₂ = 1,5*0,66        d₂  = 0,999 miles

Identify the values of variables x, y, and z based on the image given of the angles formed by a transversal and parallel lines
Paul [167]

Answer:

x=62\\y=94\\z=94

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's start by identifying relevant angle theorems for two parallel lines cut by a transversal.

Alternate Interior Angles Theorem

Two angles that are on different sides of the transversal and inside of the two parallel lines are congruent (=).

Alternate Exterior Angles Theorem

Two angles that are on different sides of the transversal and outside of the two parallel lines are congruent (=).

Same-side Interior Angles Theorem

Two angles that are on the same side of the transversal and inside of the two parallel lines are supplementary (= 180).

Same-side Exterior Angles Theorem

Two angles that are on the same side of the transversal and outside of the two parallel lines are supplementary (=180).

Corresponding Angles Theorem

Two angles on a figure that correspond are congruent (=).

_

Now, let's look at the figure and apply these theorems.

z and 86 are same-side exterior angles, meaning they're supplementary:

z+86=180

Subtract 86 from both sides of the equation:

z=94

Now that we know our z value, let's recognize that z (94)corresponds to x+32, meaning they're congruent:

x+32=94

Subtract 32 from both sides of the equation:

x=62

Let's find the value of the angle:

(62)+32

Add:

94

Since the corresponding angles are of the same value, they're congruent, proving our x & z values correct.

_

Since y and the angle represented by the expression x+32 (94°) are alternate-interior angles, they are congruent:

y=94

Answer:

19. C

Step-by-step explanation:

The sale only applies to two pairs of shoes at a time. So there are two sets of the sale.

Sale 1: $35 + $(35/2) = $52.5

Sale 2: ^^

Total cost = $105

Sales tax = 0.065 x $105 = $6.83

Total cost of purchase = $111.83
