it would be p/2-2w=L as you divide 2 to separate L and then subtract the rest to the other side
Cerrena [4.2K]3 years ago

First subtract 2w from both sides
p-2w=2L

Then divide all terms by 2
p/2-w= L

Final answer: L= p/2-w

Omg help me please like I just can't right now

2x-6y= -12
x+2y=14
steposvetlana [31]

here,

2x-6y= -12

2(x-3y)= -12

x-3y = -6...........eq1

x+2y=14............eq2

we can subtract the above two given equations

we get,

x - 3y =  - 6 \\ x + 2y = 14

___________

- 5y =  - 20

so,

y=4

now to find the value of x we have to substitute the value of y in any of the above two equations, I choose eq2

we get,

x + 2y = 14 \\ x + 2 \times 4 = 14 \\ x + 8 = 14 \\ x = 14 - 8 \\ x = 6

so,

x=6,y=4

X-y=5 and x^2y=5x+6
sergeinik [125]

By applying algebraic handling on the two equations, we find the following three solution pairs: x₁ ≈ 5.693 ,y₁ ≈ 10.693; x₂ ≈ 1.430, y₂ ≈ 6.430; x₃ ≈ - 0.737, y₃ ≈ 4.263.

How to solve a system of equations

In this question we have a system formed by a linear equation and a non-linear equation, both with no trascendent elements and whose solution can be found easily by algebraic handling:

x - y = 5      (1)

x² · y = 5 · x + 6       (2)

By (1):

y = x + 5

By substituting on (2):

x² · (x + 5) = 5 · x + 6

x³ + 5 · x² - 5 · x - 6 = 0

(x + 5.693) · (x - 1.430) · (x + 0.737) = 0

There are three solutions: x₁ ≈ 5.693, x₂ ≈ 1.430, x₃ ≈ - 0.737

And the y-values are found by evaluating on (1):

y = x + 5

x₁ ≈ 5.693

y₁ ≈ 10.693

x₂ ≈ 1.430

y₂ ≈ 6.430

x₃ ≈ - 0.737

y₃ ≈ 4.263

By applying algebraic handling on the two equations, we find the following three solution pairs: x₁ ≈ 5.693 ,y₁ ≈ 10.693; x₂ ≈ 1.430, y₂ ≈ 6.430; x₃ ≈ - 0.737, y₃ ≈ 4.263.

In a survey of 3,000 people who owned a certain type of car, 1,050 said they would buy that type of car again. What percent of
Ray Of Light [21]

Answer:

35 percent

Step-by-step explanation:

1050 / 3000 as a percent

1050 / 3000 = 105 / 300

Divide both sides by 3:

300 / 3 = 100

105 / 3 = 35

35 / 100 = 35 percent
