People started to domesticated plants for the purpose of growing food crops.

This is a technique or method through which the problem of food can be solved as the fertile and unused land can be used for cultivation. It is the process in which the wild plants have been developed or convert into food crop plants with the help of artificial selection.

The process of plant domestication usually involves an early hybridization proceeding after selective breeding. Plant domination probably began around 8,000 BCE and it includes oats, rye, barley, lentils, peas, and various fruits and nuts.

Answer:

to produce food

Explanation:

The people were initially hunter-gatherers, and they were constantly on the move in order to find enough food to survive through the next few days. That was a big problem, as very often there was not enough food, plus it was dangerous as the large prey animals were very powerful and there was always a predator lurking around. This all changed once the people saw the potential in several wild crops. They stared to gather their seeds and plant them, and they saw that they can produce food for themselves. Not just that they were able to produce food, but they were producing enough for the whole year and even surplus, which led to change of their lifestyle and they started to have a settled life and create settlements.
