x =-14     x=13

x^2 +x = 182

Subtract 182 from each side

x^2 +x -182 = 182-182

x^2 +x -182=0

What two numbers multiply to -182 and add to 1

14*-13 = 182

14-13 =1

x+14=0  x-13 =0

x =-14     x=13
