The shortest distance was 1.05 miles.
This is because the 5 in 1.05 is in the hundredths place and there is a 0 in the tenths place. The tenths place is larger than the hundredths place and since all the other values have a number higher than 0 in the tenths place, 1.05 is the lowest.

You could roll a 6-sided die 3 times to simulate this.  This is a good simulation because it has one side for each possible tool, and each roll is independent, just as selecting the tool with replacement would be.

Given the two points (-1,-4) and (2,5): a. Find the slope between these two points
Dvinal [7]
Easy, using \frac{y1-y2}{x1-x2} to find the intercept:

\frac{-4-5}{-1-2}=

\frac{-9}{-3}=3

This is your slope. m=3

To find y=mx+b form

-4=3(-1)+b

-4=-3+b

-1=b

y=3x-1 in y=mx+b form
