Anya lifts a ball high above her head and drops it. The ball bounces up and down. She observes that the ball loses height every

time it bounces. How can this situation be explained? Some of the ball’s energy changes to thermal energy when it hits the ground. The ball loses some of its energy to the force of gravity. There’s no air resistance (drag) on the ball. The mass of the ball changes with each bounce.

The correct answer is the third option. The height of the ball decreases everytime it bounces because the ball loses some of the energy it has due to the pull of the force of the gravity to the ball. As the ball bounces, the pull gets stronger and stronger.

Answer: The first one.

Explanation: As the ball falls, there are some forcers acting on it:

The air resistance is one of the factors that will affect the ball movement.

When the ball impacts on the ground, it transfers some of the energy to the ground, wich also affects the height of the ball when it bounces.

There is also a tiny bit of energy that is turned into heat, this is primarly by the friction with the air, but there is also a little bit transformed when it bounces.

The force of gravity also is a factor here, as the ball is closer to earth, the force is stronger, then is harder for the ball to bounce as high as it initally was.

The primarly factors are the first two, and for the given options i would say that the best explanation is the first one.

Ymorist [56]

Answer:

From question (a) and (b) the pendulum motion is perpendicular to the force so the normal force will do no work and the tension in the string of the pendulum will not work

       i.e Normal \ Force(N)  = mg cos \theta

And \theta = 90 so

           N = 0

An example of a measure of the mass of an object would be
atroni [7]

Answer:

Balances and Scales

A balance compares an object with a known mass to the object in question. One example of a balance is the triple beam balance. The standard unit of measure for mass is based on the metric system and is typically denoted as kilograms or grams.

A plane is landing. It started at 400m/s and ended up at 50m/s after 30 seconds. What is it's acceleration?
quester [9]

Give u = start velocity

        v = end velocity

v = u + at

50 = 400 + a*30

30a = -350

a = -116.67 m/s^{2}

**Why the accecleration is negative number**

Because displacement, velocity, and acceleration are VECTOR QUANTITIES.

Vector Quantity must have direction.
