Immigration is affecting religion in America in several different ways. For example, while Evangelical Christianity has been the most common religion in America for centuries, other denominations, such as Catholicism and Islam continue to grow. The political aspects of immigration, moreover, are becoming entangled with religion, so that many evangelical churches are embracing extreme-right anti-immigration attitudes. Also, as the population of the country continues to diversify, the population within individual churches is becoming more diverse as well, with new immigrants joining congregations.

right to vote if they were to be born in the United States as this will only
gave them the right.
