Answer:

(3, 2)

Step-by-step explanation:

What you do is you take the first problem and move the -2x to the other side with the y to get y+2x=8.

The next thing you do is you substitute the second problem into the y of the first problem like this: (x-1)+2x=8.

The next thing that you do is you add the x's together to get 3x-1=8.

After that, you will add the 1 to both sides to get 3x=9.

The last thing you will do is divide 3 on both sides to get x=3.

How you will solve the y is you take the 3 that you just found out is your x and pug it into the second equation to get y=3-1.

y=2.

(3, 2) is your answer.

Step 3: Displaying numerical data in dot plots, and describing and analyzing the data.
AlexFokin [52]

Answer:The mode if 5, because 5 occurs 8 times, which is more than any other numbers occurring more than once. The median is 6, and this is because when you line up the numbers in order and cross them off to find the middle number, it is 6. I rounded to the mean to about 6.4. I got this by adding all of the numbers up, or by doing 12 + 40 +18 +7, etc, and got the total of 165. Because there is a total of 26 data points, I divided those numbers and got 6.3461, which ends up rounding to 6.4.

Find all the solutions of sin x + cos x = 1 in the interval [0, 2pie).
Mashcka [7]

Answer:

X = 0,  π/2 in the interval  [0, 2pi).

Step-by-step explanation:

Use the auxiliary angle method:

R sin(x + a)  = Rsin x cos a + Rcos x sin a = 1

                        sin x         +    cos x             = 1

Comparing coefficients:

R cos a = 1 and R sin a =  1, so

tan a = R sin a / R cos a  = 1

So a = π/4 radians.

Also  R^2(sin^2 a + cos^2 a) =  1^2 + 1^2 = 2

Therefore R = √2.

So √2 sin (x +π/4 = 1

sin x + π/4 = 1/√2

x  + π/4 = π/4

x = 0 radians

Also

x = 0 +  π/2 = π/2.

At noon of a certain day, when 5 pens and 3 pencils were placed in a drawer, the ratio of the number of pens to the number of pe
Molodets [167]

The question is probably incomplete. What i am assuming is that the person might ask for the previous ratio or the total number of pens and pencil in the drawer.

So if it is the previous ratio it obviously would be 47 - 5 : 17 -3 so 42 : 14 and in case he or she is asking for the total number of pens and pencils in the drawer before so they were 42 + 14 hence 56.
