The Earth´s crust, the thin layer that separates us from the molten lava near to the Earth´s core, moves almost constantly due to changes in the layer of lava. This movement, which causes sliding motions in the tectonic plates, which are part of the crust where we stand, will also cause shakes that we know as earthquakes. These earthquakes, which are basically the movement of these tectonic plates, will usually be felt by us either as if jumping up and down in a bed, or as if being shaken side to side like on a wave of the ocean. Thus, the answer being B.
