Tyrel is learning about a certain kind of metal used to make satellites. He learns that infrared light is absorbed by the metal,

X-ray light is transmitted through the metal, and visible light is reflected off the metal. Tyrel wonders if the metal will get warm if he shines the lights on it. Can light cause the metal to get warm? Why or why not? Does it matter what type of light shines on the metal?

Answer:

Below.

Explanation:

Light will make the metal warmer because it isn't a perfect reflector. Some of the photons from the light are absorbed by the metal.

I think infrared light will make it warmer than visible light.

What does the MC1R gene code for
zlopas [31]
The MC1R gene provides instructions for making a protein called the melanocortin 1 receptor. This receptor plays an important role in normal pigmentation. The receptor is primarily located on the surface of melanocytes, which are specialized cells that produce a pigment called melanin.

Sodium hydroxide, NaoH , is a strong base that is used im industrial synthesis and processes such as making paper. What is the m
valentinak56 [21]

Answer:

1.926 g of NaOH

Explanation:

Concept tested: Mole and Avogadro's number

  • We need to know that , 1 mole of a compound contains number of molecules equivalent to the Avogadro's number.
  • Th Avogadro's number is 6.022 × 10^23

Therefore;

  • 1 mole of a compound = 6.022 × 10^23 molecules

In this case; Our compound is NaOH

Therefore;

1 mole of NaOH contains 6.022 × 10^23 molecules

But; Molar mass of NaOH is 40.0 g/mol

Therefore;

  • 40.0 g of NaOH contains 6.022 × 10^23 molecules

With this we can calculate the mass of 2.90 × 10^22 molecules

  • Mass of a compound = (number of molecules ÷ Avogadro's constant) × molar mass

Therefore;

Mass of NaOH =(2.90 × 10^22 molecules ÷ 6.022 × 10^23 molecules)40g

                        = 1.9263 g

                        = 1.926 g NaOH

Thus, the mass of NaOH is 1.926 g

lesya [120]
Thank you for posting you question here. I think the question is incomplete. I manage to check the complete question elsewhere:

A 0.0075 V/m electric field creates a 3.9 mA current in a 1.0 mm diameter wire. What is the wire made of?

a) Aluminum (resistivity: 2.82 * 10 ^ -8)
b) Nichrome (resistivity: 1.1 * 10 ^ -6)
c) Copper (resistivity: 1.68 * 10 ^ -8)
d) Iron (resistivity: 1.0 * 10 ^ -7)

the answer is B which is Nichrome (resistivity: 1.1 * 10 ^ -6)
