An electrons transferred and compound forms
ryzh [129]2 years ago

Answer:

Before I answer I want to say this Calibri is the superior font and green is the only highlight color.

The correct answer is C: Electrons are transferred → Ions form → Ions are attracted to each other

Explanation:

Generally, an ionic compound is formed between electropositive and electronegative elements.

Normally every element wants to occupy the inert gas configuration in order to be stable. During the ionic bond formation the electropositive metal will lose the electrons and forms cation. The electronegative metal will gain electrons and forms anion.

The cation is positively charged and the ion is negatively charged. Due to the coulombic force of attraction, the ions will be attracted to each other and forms an ionic compound.

One can take the example of NaCl where Na will lose one electron and form. Chlorine will take one electron and form. These ions are attracted and sodium chloride is formed.

Hence the formation of an ionic compound follows these steps-

1- First electrons are transferred.

2-The ions are formed

3-The ions are attracted to form the compound

If you stood on a planet having a mass four times higher than Earth's mass, and a radius two times 70) lon longer than Earth's r
BigorU [14]

CHECK COMPLETE QUESTION BELOW

you stood on a planet having a mass four times that of earth mass and a radius two times of earth radius , you would weigh?

A) four times more than you do on Earth.

B) two times less than you do on Earth.

C) the same as you do on Earth

D) two times more than you do on Earth

Answer:

OPTION C is correct

The same as you do on Earth

Explanation :

According to law of gravitation :

F=GMm/R^2......(a)

F= mg.....(b)

M= mass of earth

m = mass of the person

R = radius of the earth

From law of motion

Put equation b into equation a

mg=GMm/R^2

g=GMm/R^2

g=GM/R^2

We know from question a planet having a mass four times that of earth mass and a radius two times of earth radius if we substitute we have

m= 4M

r=(2R)^2=4R^2

g= G4M/4R^2

Then, 4in the denominator will cancel out the numerator we have

g= GM/R^2

Therefore, g remain the same

A copper wire and a tungsten wire of the same length have the same resistance. What is the ratio of the diameter of the copper w
spayn [35]

Answer:

Therefore the ratio of diameter of the copper to that of the tungsten is

\sqrt{3} :\sqrt{10}

Explanation:

Resistance: Resistance is defined to the ratio of voltage to the electricity.

The resistance of a wire is

  1. directly proportional to its length i.eR\propto l
  2. inversely proportional to its cross section area i.eR\propto \frac{1}{A}

Therefore

R=\rho\frac{l}{A}

ρ is the resistivity.

The unit of resistance is ohm (Ω).

The resistivity of copper(ρ₁) is 1.68×10⁻⁸ ohm-m

The resistivity of tungsten(ρ₂) is 5.6×10⁻⁸ ohm-m

For copper:

A=\pi r_1^2 =\pi (\frac{d_1}{2} )^2

R_1=\rho_1\frac{l_1}{\pi(\frac{d_1}{2})^2 }

\Rightarrow (\frac{d_1}{2})^2=\rho_1\frac{l_1}{\pi R_1 }......(1)

Again for tungsten:

R_2=\rho_2\frac{l_2}{\pi(\frac{d_2}{2})^2 }

\Rightarrow (\frac{d_2}{2})^2=\rho_2\frac{l_2}{\pi R_2 }........(2)

Given that R_1=R_2   and    l_1=l_2

Dividing the equation (1) and (2)

\Rightarrow\frac{ (\frac{d_1}{2})^2}{ (\frac{d_2}{2})^2}=\frac{\rho_1\frac{l_1}{\pi R_1 }}{\rho_2\frac{l_2}{\pi R_2 }}

\Rightarrow( \frac{d_1}{d_2} )^2=\frac{1.68\times 10^{-8}}{5.6\times 10^{-8}}   [since R_1=R_2   and    l_1=l_2]

\Rightarrow( \frac{d_1}{d_2} )=\sqrt{\frac{1.68\times 10^{-8}}{5.6\times 10^{-8}}}

\Rightarrow( \frac{d_1}{d_2} )=\sqrt{\frac{3}{10}}

\Rightarrow d_1:d_2=\sqrt{3} :\sqrt{10}

Therefore the ratio of diameter of the copper to that of the tungsten is

\sqrt{3} :\sqrt{10}

A string that is under 54.0 N of tension has linear density 5.20 g/m . A sinusoidal wave with amplitude 2.50 cm and wavelength 1
kicyunya [14]

Answer:

8.89288275 m/s

Explanation:

F = Tension = 54 N

\mu = Linear density of string = 5.2 g/m

A = Amplitude = 2.5 cm

Wave velocity is given by

v=\sqrt{\frac{F}{\mu}}\\\Rightarrow v=\sqrt{\frac{54}{5.2\times 10^{-3}}}\\\Rightarrow v=101.90493\ m/s

Frequency is given by

f=\frac{v}{\lambda}\\\Rightarrow f=\frac{101.90493}{1.8}\\\Rightarrow f=56.61385\ Hz

Angular frequency is given by

\omega=2\pi f\\\Rightarrow \omega=2\pi 56.61385\\\Rightarrow \omega=355.71531\ rad/s

Maximum velocity of a particle is given by

v_m=A\omega\\\Rightarrow v_m=0.025\times 355.71531\\\Rightarrow v_m=8.89288275\ m/s

The maximum velocity of a particle on the string is 8.89288275 m/s
