Stubs-R-Us is a local event ticket broker. Last year, the company sold 750,000 tickets with an average commission of $10. Becaus

e of the general economic climate, Stubs expects ticket volume to decline by 20 percent. In addition, employees at a local insurance company headquarters accounted for 8 percent of Stubs’ volume. The headquarters relocated to another state and all the employees closed their accounts.
Offsetting these factors is the observation that the average commission per sale is likely to increase by 13 percent because the average ticket prices are expected to be larger in the coming year.
Required:

Answer:

$6,237,600

Explanation:

The computation of Estimate commission revenues is shown below:-

In the Coming year the market volume = 100% - 20%

= 80%

In the Coming year the number of sales = 100% - 8%

= 92%

In the coming year the Average commission per trade = 100% + 13%

= 113%

Commission revenue = Sold tickets × Average commission × In the Coming year the market volume × In the Coming year the number of sales × In the coming year the Average commission per trade

= 750,000 × $10 × 0.80 × 0.92 × 1.13

= $6,237,600

We applied the same formula to find out the commission revenue earned by the company

Tax laws permit installment sales, which are recognized in the year of sale for financial reporting purposes, to be reported in
Lera25 [3.4K]

Answer:

lower; higher.

Explanation:

Taxation can be defined as the involuntary or compulsory fees levied on individuals or business entities by the government to generate revenues used for funding public institutions and activities.

The different types of tax include the following;

1. Income tax: a tax on the money made by workers in the state. This type of tax is paid by employees with respect to the amount of money they receive as their wages or salary.

2. Property tax: a tax based on the value of a person's home or business. It is mainly taxed on physical assets or properties such as land, building, cars, business, etc.

3. Sales tax: a tax that is a percent of the price of goods sold in retail stores. It is being paid by the consumers (buyers) of finished goods and services and then, transfered to the appropriate authorities by the seller.

Generally, installment sales are permitted or allowed by the tax laws in a country. Typically, they are recognized in the year of sale for the purpose of financial reporting. Also, installment sales for any goods or services are to be reported in the tax return, at a later time when cash is received from the customer (buyer).

This results in a deferred tax liability because taxable income is lower than financial income in the year of sale, and higher than financial income in later years when collected.

Quantum Technology had $652,000 of retained earnings on December 31, 20X2. The company paid common dividends of $33,300 in 20X2
loris [4]

Answer:

(a) $546,300

(b) $12.88

Explanation:

(a)  Earnings available to common stockholders:

= Dividend + Retained Earnings

= 33,300 + 513,000

= $546,300

Earnings available to common stockholders means the amount available to distribute as dividend.

But the company need not pay full earnings as dividend. They may left some portion as retained earnings.

(b)  Earnings per share:

= Earnings available to common stockholders ÷ no. of shares of common stock

= $546,300 ÷ 42,400

= $12.88

GoSnow sells snowboards. Each snowboard requires direct materials of $128, direct labor of $53, and variable overhead of $63. Th
Fofino [41]

Answer:

Unitary selling price=  $304.93

Explanation:

Giving the following information:

Unitary variable costs:

direct materials of $128

direct labor of $53

the variable overhead of $63.

Fixed costs:

The fixed overhead costs of $301,000

Fixed selling and administrative costs of $229,000

The company has a target profit of $189,800.

Units sold= 11,800 snowboards

First, we need to calculate the total contribution margin required:

Contribution margin= net profit + total fixed expense

Contribution margin= 189,000 + (301,000 + 229,000)

Contribution margin= $719,000

Now, we calculate the total variable expense:

Total variable cost= 11,800* (128 + 53 + 63)

TVC= 2,879,200

Finally, we calculate total sales and the unitary selling price:

Total sales= contribution margin + total variable cost

Total sales= 719,000 + 2,879,200= 3,598,200

Unitary selling price= 3,598,200/11,800= $304.93
