In order to clear the fraction you would times it by 2 which will cancel out the 1/2 which leaves you with 7x-(4x+1)=6 you would multiply everything in the parenthesis due to a negative 1 being in front of it which gives you 7x-4x-1=6 from their combines likes terms which is 3x-1=6 you would move the constant to the right and change the signing leaving you with 3x=7. then you would divide by 3 on each side and answer should be x= 3/7

Answer:

Your answer would be 4! Or if you want it in fraction form then it would be 7/3!

7x-1/2(8x+2)=6

We simplify the equation to the form, which is simple to understand

7x-1/2(8x+2)=6

Simplifying:

7x-0.5*(8x+2)=6

Reorder the terms in parentheses

7x+(-4x-2)=6

Remove unnecessary parentheses

+7x-4x-2=+6

We move all terms containing x to the left and all other terms to the right.

+7x-4x=+6+2

We simplify left and right side of the equation.

+3x=+8

We divide both sides of the equation by 3 to get x.

x=7/3

ivolga24 [154]

Answer:

2,075,673,600 batting orders may occur.

Step-by-step explanation:

The order of the first eight batters in the batting order is important. For example, if we exchange Jonathan Schoop with Adam Jones in the lineup, that is a different lineup. So we use the permutations formula to solve this problem.

Permutations formula:

The number of possible permutations of x elements from a set of n elements is given by the following formula:

P_{(n,x)} = \frac{n!}{(n-x)!}

First 8 batters

8 players from a set of 16. So

P_{(16,8)} = \frac{16!}{(16 - 8)!} = 518918400

Last batter:

Any of the four pitchers.

How many different batting orders may occur?

4*518918400 = 2,075,673,600

2,075,673,600 batting orders may occur.

There are 100 men and 100 seats, and each person has a pre-assigned seat. However, the first person is randomly assigned (either
olganol [36]

Answer:

1 / 2

Step-by-step explanation:

- First observe that the fate of the last person is determined the moment either the first or the last seat is selected! This is because the last person will either get the first seat or the last seat. Any other seat will necessarily be taken by the time the last guy gets to 'choose'.

- Since at each choice step, the first or last is equally probable to be taken, the last person will get either the first or last with equal probability: 1/2

- Armed with the key observation, we see that the event that the last person's correct seat is free, is exactly the same as the event that the first person's seat was taken before the last person's seat.

- Well, each person had to make a random choice, was equally likely to choose the first person's seat or the last person's seat - the random chooser exhibits absolutely no preference towards a particular seat. This means that the probability that one seat is taken before the other must be 1/2
