Magnetism is a class of physical phenomena that are mediated by magnetic fields. Electric currents and the magnetic moments of elementary particles give rise to a magnetic field, which acts on other currents and magnetic moments.The Earth's magnetic field is somewhat caused by the composition of the earth's core which is rich in iron minerals. There is a solid inner core that is made of iron which makes up to 2/3 of the moon's size. The charged metal of the iron produces electric currents, consequently resulting to Earth's magnetic field.
<span>There is a remote possibility a barren rock could turn into a temperate forest, but this would have taken billions of years. It is not likely to have happened therefore I would have to say the answer is false.</span>
Unlike eukaryotes, prokaryotes (which include bacteria) undergo a type of cell division known as binary fission. In some respects, this process is similar to mitosis; it requires replication of the cell's chromosomes, segregation of the copied DNA, and splitting of the parent cell's cytoplasm.
The attached picture shows how bacteria gain antibiotic resistance. Firstly, a few individuals attain a
beneficial mutation in their genetic material that accords them the capability to survive in an antibiotic. The
individuals are hence able to survive and
reproduce more than those individuals without the mutation. There is, therefore, a genetic
shift in the population in favor of the resistant genotype. After generations, the
whole population becomes antibiotic resistant.
