probability = required outcome / all possible outcome

The all possible outcome will be gotten by adding up all the snacks. that is;

required outcome = 5 + 8 + 2 = 15

The required outcome is the snack he chooses, that is; required outcome = 2

Probability (of choosing a cookie) =required outcome / all possible outcome

                                                         =\frac{2}{15}
