(II) A 0.72-m-diameter solid sphere can be rotated about an axis through its center by a torque of 10.8 m • N which accelerates
kozerog [31]

Answer:

m = 23.3 kg

Explanation:

As we know that it will have constant torque on it

so the acceleration of the ball will be constant so here we can say that we can use kinematics equation

\theta = \omega_i t + \frac{1}{2}\alpha t^2

160(2\pi) = 0 + \frac{1}{2}\alpha (15^2)

320 \pi = 112.5 \alpha

so we have

\alpha = \frac{320\pi}{112.5}

\alpha = 8.94 rad/s^2

now we know that

\tau = I \alpha

10.8 = I(8.94)

I = 1.21 kg m^2

so we know that

I = \frac{2}{5}mR^2

here we know that

diameter = 0.72 m

so radius (R) = 0.36 m

\frac{2}{5}m(0.36^2) = 1.21

m = 23.3 kg

If one gram of matter could be completely converted into energy, the yield would be
noname [10]

Answer:

Energy, E=9\times 10^{13}\ J

Explanation:

It is given that,

Mass of matter, m = 1 g = 0.001 Kg

If this matter is completely converted into energy, we need to find the yield. The mass of an object can be converted to energy as :

E=mc^2

c = speed of light

E=0.001\ kg\times (3\times 10^8\ m/s)^2

E=9\times 10^{13}\ J

So, the energy yield will be 9\times 10^{13}\ J. Hence, this is the required solution.

Really need help with this Physics question!
mojhsa [17]

As we know that block of steel is continue to be in moving state

so here the friction must be kinetic friction between two surface

so we know that formula of kinetic friction must be

F_k = \mu_k mg

now we have

\mu_k = 0.57

mg = 25 N

now from the above equation we have

F_k = 0.57\times 25

F_k = 14.25 N

So here we need atleast 14.25 N force to continue sliding the box now as per given options all forces which are less than 14.25 N is not correct

Hence correct answer must be 18.0 N

<u>D) 18.0 N</u>

An 8-inch dinner knife is sitting on a circular plate so that its ends are on the edge of the plate. if the minor arc that is in
Makovka662 [10]
When we form a right triangle connecting the edge of the knife to the center of the circle and the center of the knife to the center of the circle, the radius of the circle becomes the hypotenuse. Using the trigonometric function,
                                     sin 60° = opposite / hypotenuse = 4 / hypotenuse
The value of the hypotenuse is 4.62 inches. Then, the diameter is twice this value which is 9.24 inches.

For a body falling freely from rest (disregarding air resistance), the distance the body falls varies directly as the square o
My name is Ann [436]

Answer:

The distance is 199.98 ft.

Explanation:

Given that,

Distance = 512 feet

Time = 88 sec

The distance the body falls varies directly as the square of the time.

s\propto t^2

s=kt^2

We need to calculate the value of constant

Put the value into the formula

512=k\times(88)^2

k=\dfrac{512}{(88)^2}

k=0.06611

We need to calculate the distance

Using formula of distance again

s=kt^2

Put the value into the formula

s=0.06611\times(55)^2

s=199.98\ ft

Hence, The distance is 199.98 ft.
