If a term is multiplied by zero, the result product will always be
Serga [27]
Hi there!

If any term, no matter what the number multiplied by zero will always turn out to be zero. I can give you an example of why this is correct.

We'll use apples. :P

If we have four apples multiplied by zero, you'd have zero apple because there's NO groups of apples to use.

Two times three is six because there are two groups of three, or three groups of two. But since earlier we said that there were zero groups of apples, there is zero groups of four so that cancels out to make none.

Hope this helps! :D

A rope is swinging In such a way that the length of the arc traced by a knot at its bottom end is
Sati [7]

Answer:

  13.6 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

The geometric sequence of arc lengths can be described by ...

  f(n) = a·b^n

We have (n, f(n)) = (3, 20) and (7, 12). Using these values, we can find the common ratio (b):

  20 = a·b^3

  12 = a·b^7

Then ...

  12/20 = (a·b^7)/(a·b^3) = b^4 = 3/5

We want the 6th term, which we can get from the 7th term by multiplying by b^-1.

  b^(-1) = (b^4)^(-1/4) = (3/5)^(-1/4) = √(√(5/3)) ≈ 1.13622

Then the 6th swing had an arc length of ...

  f(6) = f(7)·b^-1

  f(6) = (12 ft)(1.13622) ≈ 13.63 ft ≈ 13.6 ft

Anthony has been saving nickels (N), dimes (D), and quarters (Q) over the last year. He knows that he has twice as many nickels
Mila [183]

Answer:

75 number of quarters

150 number of nickels

35 number of dimes

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x, y and z be the amount of quarters, nickel and dimes respectively.

he learns that he has 260 coins, thus;

x + y + z = 260 - - - (1)

Now, we are told that he has twice as many nickels as quarters.

Thus, number of nickels = 2x

y = 2x - - - (2)

From online research, we have the following cost;

1 quarter = $0.25

1 nickel = $0.05

1 dime = $0.1

Total cost is $29.75. Therefore;

0.25x + 0.05y + 0.1z = 29.75 - - - (3)

Put 2x for y in eq (1) and eq (3) to get;

x + 2x + z = 260

3x + z = 260 - - - (eq 4)

0.25x + 0.05(2x) + 0.1z = 29.75

0.25x + 0.10x + 0.1z = 29.75

0.35x + 0.1z = 29.75 - - - (eq 5)

From eq(4), z = 260 - 3x

Thus;

0.35x + 0.1(260 - 3x) = 29.75

0.35x + 26 - 0.3x = 29.75

0.05x = 29.75 - 26

0.05x = 3.75

x = 3.75/0.05

x = 75

So, z = 260 - 3(75)

z = 260 - 225

z = 35

Since y = 2x,

Then,y = 2(75) = 150

Thus,we have;

75 number of quarters

150 number of nickels

35 number of dimes
