Answer:

5 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

First of all Dev is a lazy slacker if you ask me but alright. (8 hours to do the same project it takes Tino to do in 2 hours? what?)

But in all seriousness, lets go and solve this problemo:

because it will take half the amount of time with two people you must first add 8 and two to get 10 which you divide by 2 to get 5.

I hope I am correct, my scincerest apologies if not, have a great day.

Answer:

1.6 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

first lets go over what we know...

  • In total Tito will finish in 2 hours
  • Dev will finish in a whopping 8 hours.

Then, we should think about how much work they can each do in 1 hour...

  • Tito will do 1/2 of the work
  • Dev will do 1/8

Now, we have to think about it in terms of x

  • Tito will do x/2 of the work
  • Dev will do x/8

(do you see the pattern yet?)

Now we write an equation using x... it will look like this...

x/2 + x/8 = 1

(the one stands for 1 hour)

Find the common denominator (8) and multiply...

4x/8 + x/8 = 4x+x / 8 = 5x/8

Now we do 5x/8 = 1...

5x/8 = 1 ---> 5x/8 * 8 (to get rid of fraction) = 1*8 (we have to what we do to one side to the other remember that!!) ---> 5x = 8 ---> (divide both by the number of x's) 5x/5=x and 8/5 = well.. 8/5.

NOW FINALLY... WE HAVE OUR ANSWER!!! x= 8/5 = 1 3/5= 1.6 (hours)
