When the irregularly shaped object is totally submerged the volume of water in a graduated cylinder increases from 10 mL to 15 mL.

Initially volume of water contained = 10 mL

volume of water + volume of irregular shaped object = 15 mL

volume of irregular shaped object = 15 - 10 = 5 mL .
