Answer:

Explanation:

The periodic table is a tabular array of the chemical elements organized by atomic number, from the element with the lowest atomic number, hydrogen, to the element with the highest atomic number, sogginess. The atomic number of an element is the number of protons in the nucleus of an atom of that element.

Match each term with its best description.
Oxana [17]
The answers are:
1. Compaction - grains move closer together.
2. Foliation - parallel alignment of platy grains.
3. Recrystallization - grains take on a larger size.
4. Burial metamorphism - when a rock changes because of surrounding pressure.

Compaction produce rocks that have a tighter grain arrangement due to heat and pressure the rock undergoes. This process reduces the size of the rock.

Foliation occurs when pressure is put on one side of the grains more than any other direction. This creates platy structured rocks, which align under pressure.

Recrystallization is a process where the chemical composition  a rock is changed. The mineral grains that are produced in this process are larger than the original grains.

Burial metamorphism occurs when rocks get buried deeper and deeper. They change due to the pressure from the overlying layers.

What current is taken by the lamp when it is connected to a 220 v mains supply? what is the resistance of the lamp
eimsori [14]

Answer:

Given parameters

Potential difference (V) = 220 V

Power of lamp 1 (P1) = 100 W

Power of lamp 2 (P2) = 60 W

Both the bulbs are connected in parallel. Therefore, the potential difference across each of them will be 220 V, because no division of voltage occurs in a parallel circuit.

We know that

Power = Voltage x Current

P = V x I

I = P/V

Lamp 1:

I1 = P1/V

I1 = 100/220

I1 = 5/11 A

Lamp 2:

I2 = P2/V

I2 = 60/220

I2 = 3/11 A

Net current (I) = I1 + I2

I = 5/11 + 3/11

I = 8/11

I = 0.7273 A

Hence, current drawn from the line is 0.727 A

Hope this helps!

An electron moves in a region where the magnetic field is uniform and has a magnitude of 80 μT. The electron follows a helical p
sladkih [1.3K]

Answer:

3.4 x 10⁴ m/s

Explanation:

Consider the circular motion of the electron

B = magnetic field = 80 x 10⁻⁶ T

m = mass of electron = 9.1 x 10⁻³¹ kg

v  = radial speed

r = radius of circular path = 2 mm = 0.002 m

q = magnitude of charge on electron = 1.6 x 10⁻¹⁹ C

For the circular motion of electron

qBr = mv

(1.6 x 10⁻¹⁹) (80 x 10⁻⁶) (0.002) = (9.1 x 10⁻³¹) v

v = 2.8 x 10⁴ m/s

Consider the linear motion of the electron :

v' = linear speed

x = horizontal distance traveled = 9 mm = 0.009 m

t = time taken = \frac{2\pi m}{qB} = \frac{2\pi (9.1\times 10^{-31})}{(1.6\times 10^{^{-19}})(80\times 10^{-6})} = 4.5 x 10⁻⁷ sec

using the equation

x = v' t

0.009 = v' (4.5 x 10⁻⁷)

v' = 20000 m/s

v' = 2 x 10⁴ m/s

Speed is given as

V = sqrt(v² + v'²)

V = sqrt((2.8 x 10⁴)² + (2 x 10⁴)²)

v = 3.4 x 10⁴ m/s

Calculate the speed of a car that travels 250 miles in 4.0 hours. (remember your unit)
MrRa [10]
250/4= 62.5 mph

to find the mph of a car, you need to divide the number of miles traveled by the hours that it took to travel that many miles
