<h2>PERIMETER</h2>

\rm\large{Hi!!}

<h3>PROBLEM: </h3>

  • The table below lists the widths of four rectangles each with an area of 72 cm².

Rectangle 1 : 6 cm (width)

Rectangle 2 : 8 cm (width)

Rectangle 3 : 10 cm (width)

Rectangle 4 : 18 cm (width)

Which of the four rectangle has the smallest perimeter?

\huge\purple{\overline{\quad\quad\quad\quad\quad\quad\quad\quad \ \ \ }}

<h3>ANSWER and SOLUTION:</h3>

  • Now, to be able to determine <em>what </em><em>rectangle</em><em> </em><em>has</em><em> </em><em>the </em><em>smallest</em><em> </em><em>perimeter</em><em>,</em><em> </em>we have to get the perimeter of all rectangles.

FORMULA TO BE USED: P = 2(l+w)

Now that we have the formula, Let's Solve!!

\huge\purple{\overline{\quad\quad\quad\quad\quad\quad\quad\quad \ \ \ }}

CALCULATION FOR RECTANGLE 1:

Given:

  • Length = 72
  • Width = 6

Formula:

  • P = 2(l+w)

Substitution:

  • P = 2(72+6)
  • P = 2(78)
  • P= 156

  • The <u>perimeter of Rectangle 1 is 156.</u>

CALCULATION FOR RECTANGLE 2:

Given:

  • Length = 72
  • Width = 8

Formula:

  • P = 2(l+w)

Substitution:

  • P = 2(72+8)
  • P = 2(180)
  • P = 160

  • The <u>perimeter of Rectangle 2 is 160.</u>

CALCULATION FOR RECTANGLE 3:

Given:

  • Length = 72
  • Width = 10

Formula:

  • P = 2(l+w)

Substitution:

  • P = 2(72+10)
  • P = 2(82)
  • P = 164

  • The <u>perimeter of Rectangle 3 is 164.</u>

CALCULATION FOR RECTANGLE 4:

Given:

  • Length = 72
  • Width = 18

Formula:

  • P = 2(l+w)

Substitution:

  • P = 2(72+18)
  • P = 2(90)
  • P = 180

  • The <u>perimeter</u><u> </u><u>of </u><u>Rectangle </u><u>4</u><u> </u><u>is </u><u>1</u><u>8</u><u>0</u><u>.</u>

\huge\purple{\overline{\quad\quad\quad\quad\quad\quad\quad\quad \ \ \ }}

<h3>NOW, LET'S SUMMARIZE THE PERIMETER OF EVERY RECTANGLE^^</h3>

  • Rectangle 1 = 156
  • Rectangle 2 = 160
  • Rectangle 3 = 164
  • Rectangle 4 = 180

Now, among all of these four rectangles, which one is the smallest? Yes, <u>the one that has the smallest perimeter is the Rectangle 1</u>.

Again, the final answer is <u>A. Rectangle 1</u>.

Phantasy [73]

Complete question :

A landscaper drew a scale drawing of a rectangular yard using the scale, , before beginning to work on the yard.

(a) The landscaper plans to put a fence around the entire yard. How many meters of fencing does she need? Show your work.

(b) The landscaper plans to create a rectangular garden that is the size of the actual yard. What is the area of the garden?

Answer:

28cm ; 48cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

From the diagram :

Length = 8cm

Width = 6cm

Meters of fencing required :

Perimeter of rectangle :

P = 2(length + Width)

P = 2 (8cm + 6cm)

P= 2(14cm)

P = 28 cm

2.)

Area of rectangle :

Length * width

8cm * 6cm

= 48cm²

Given a regular decagon, find the measures of the angles formed by (
Sonja [21]
A decagon has 10 sides (think decade and decathlon). From the center of the decagon we draw the radii and in doing so we take the area of the decagon and divide it into 10 congruent Triangles.

The angles around the center add up to 360 because they form a circle and since there are 10, they each measure 36 degrees. So the answer to the first part (the angle between the radii) is 36 degrees.

Each of these triangles has two equal sides (both radii) so is Isosceles. That means that the base angles are congruent. So the two angles that are left in each triangle must measure the same. Since the angles in a triangle add up to 180 degrees, we know that the two remaining angles are together equal to 180-36=144 degrees. Since they are equal in measure they each measure 72 degrees.

Thus the answer to the second part, trhe measure of the angle between a radius and the side of the polygon is 72 degrees.

Answer:

y = 3

Step-by-step explanation:

8(y + 2) = 40 \\ y + 2 =  \frac{40}{8}  \\ y + 2 = 5 \\ y = 5 - 2 \\ y = 3
