Zachary runs steadily at 10km/hr. HIs distance can be modelled by the equation y=10x, where y gives his distance (km) in relatio

n to time (hrs). The kidnapper runs at 5km/hr (since he's carrying a princess) and is already 30km away when Zachary begins his pursuit. Give the equation for the kidnapper's distance (y) in relation to time (x) in slope-intercept form (y=mx+b) and then, standard form( ax + by+ c=0)

Simplest polynomial function is x^4-x^3-11x^2+9x+18.

Solution:

Given data:

Zeroes are 3i, –1, 2.

3i is a complex root of the function.

If 3i is a zero of the polynomial then –3i is also a zero of the polynomial.

Therefore zeroes are 3i, –3i –1, 2.

By factor theorem,

If a is zero of the function, then (x – a) is a factor of the polynomial.

So, the factors are (x – 3i), (x + 3i), (x + 1), (x –2).

On multiplying the factors, we get the polynomial.

(x - 3i) (x + 3i) (x + 1) (x -2)

            =(x^2+3ix-3ix+(3i)^2)(x^2-2x+x-2)

            =(x^2-9)(x^2-x-2)

Since the value of i^2=-1

            =x^2(x^2-x-2)-9(x^2-x-2)

            =x^4-x^3-2x^2-9x^2+9x+18

            =x^4-x^3-11x^2+9x+18

Simplest polynomial function is x^4-x^3-11x^2+9x+18.

Answer:

18.85 rounded

Step-by-step explanation:

The length of an arc depends on the radius of a circle and the central angle Θ. We know that for the angle equal to 360 degrees (2π), the arc length is equal to circumference. Hence, as the proportion between angle and arc length is constant, we can say that:

L / Θ = C / 2π

As circumference C = 2πr,

L / Θ = 2πr / 2π

L / Θ = r

We find out the arc length formula when multiplying this equation by Θ:

L = r * Θ

Hence, the arc length is equal to radius multiplied by the central angle (in radians).
