Hi! for x, you need to do 2x-8 = x+17 and solve, because since b is the midpoint, ab and bc would be congruent.

2x-8 = x+17
1x-8 = 17
1x = 25
x = 25

in order to find ab, you plug in the x into the expression.

ab = 2x-8
ab = 2(25)-8
ab = 42

do the same for bc:

bc = x + 17
bc = 25 + 17
bc = 42

and for ac, combine the two expressions and plug in the value for x.

ac = ab + bc
ac = 2x-8 + x+17
ac = 2(25)-8 + 25+17
ac = 84

i hope this helped! have a good day/night :)

brenda savings account principal 850, 5.5% annual interest rate and is compounded quarterly for 1 year. what is the compound int
Sedbober [7]
A = $ 861.69

Equation:
A = P(1 + rt)
Calculation:
First, converting R percent to r a decimal
r = R/100 = 5.5%/100 = 0.055 per year,
putting time into years for simplicity,
1 quarters ÷ 4 quarters/year = 0.25 years,
then, solving our equation

A = 850(1 + (0.055 × 0.25)) = 861.6875
A = $ 861.69

The total amount accrued, principal plus interest,
from simple interest on a principal of $ 850.00
at a rate of 5.5% per year
for 0.25 years (1 quarters) is $ 861.69.

Solve for x. Round to the nearest tenth, if necessary.
pychu [463]

Answer:

x = 14

Step-by-step explanation.

First I would use sine to find x's value. So ----> sin(30) = 7/x ----> x sin(30) = 7 ----> x = 7/sin(30) = 14.

You Can also find that x is equal to 14 by applying the 30, 60, 90, triangle rule. Becuase '7' opposes the 30 degree angle it is 1/2 the hypotenuse, if thats the case just multiply the 7 by 2 and you have the hypotenuse length.
