What is the equation of a line passes thru the point (4, 2) and is perpendicular to the line whose equation is y = ×/3 - 1 ??
cupoosta [38]

Answer:

Perpendicular lines have slopes that are opposite and reciprocal. Therefore, the line we are looking for has a -3 slope.

y= -3x+b

Now, we can substitute in the point given to find the intercept.

2= -3(4)+b

2= -12+b

b=14

Finally, put in everything we've found to finish the equation.

y= -3x+14

The equation formula of the circle is (x-h)^2 + (y-k)^2 = r^2
where (h,k) the point of the  center of the circle
and (r) is the radius of the circle
so if the center of the circle = (-2,-4)
by subs. in the formula we get (x-(-2))^2 + (y-(-4))^2 = r^2
then the equation will be (x+2)^2 + (y+4)^2 = r^2
now we want to define the radius of the circle r
since point (3,8) lay on the circle so we can
then subs. in the equation to get the radius
(x+2)^2 +(y+4)^2 = r^2
(3+2)^2 +(8+4)^2 = r^2
25 + 144 = r^2
r^2 = 169
r= 13
the radius of the circle is 13
so by subs in the equation we get
(x+2)^2 + (y+4)^2 = 169
so it is the first answer in the choices

If cos -105º = -0.26 and csc -105º = -1.03, then cos 105º = and csc 105º = .
andreyandreev [35.5K]

Answer:

cos (105°) = - 2.6

csc (105°) = 1.03

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that cos (-105°) = - 0.26 {The negative sign is due to the angle - 105° lies in the third quadrant where cos value is negative}

Again, given that csc (- 105°) = - 1.03 {{The negative sign is due to the angle - 105° lies in the third quadrant where csc value is negative}

Now, cos (105°) = - 2.6, because 105° lies in the second quadrant and here cos value is negative.

And csc (105°) = 1.03, because 105° lies in the second quadrant and here csc value is positive. (Answer)
