Answer:

It would be -2.

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Key skills: Conjugate, Distribution Property, and Addition/Subtraction </u>

3 + \sqrt{11\\} is your expression. The conjugate is an important concept you need to know to solve this.

Given the expression: a + \sqrt{b\\}

It's conjugate would be: a - \sqrt{b}

(Basically if there is an addition sign between the 2 terms, it would become a subtractions symbol and if there is a subtraction symbol it would become an addition symbol)

1) So the conjugate of  3+ \sqrt{11} would be 3 - \sqrt{11}

2) Now we would have to multiply them

  • (3 + \sqrt{11})(3- \sqrt{11}) is your expression.
  • If you use distribution property, you will get to: 3^{2} + 3\sqrt{11} - 3\sqrt{11} + \sqrt{11}^{2}
  • The two middle terms would cancel out (they both add up to 0), so then we have 3^{2} - \sqrt{11}^2
  • This would simplify into 9-11, which is then <u><em>-2</em></u>

Hope you understood, and have a nice day!! :)

Vlad [161]
First you need to divide 800,800 by 300,300 because you need to know how these two amounts are related, in order to know how the amounts of pounds you are converting are related.
800,800÷300,300= 2.66666.... (recurring)
If $300,300 goes into $800,800 2.66666 times, then the amount of pounds you want to find goes into £560,560 2.66666 times as well. Let's write this as an equation to solve for x (where x is the amount of pounds you will obtain for $560,560):
2.66666x = 560,560
Divide both sides by 2.66666
x = 210,210
Therefore, you will get £210,210 for $300,000

Explain how to use the Pythagorean Theorem to find the missing length of a right triangle.<br>
tino4ka555 [31]

Pythagorean theorem.

a^2+b^2=c^2

This means that the square of the length of the 2 legs of a right triangle added together = the square of the length of the hypotenuses or diagonal.

If you know 2 of the values in the 3 variables a,b,c what would you do to find the missing variable value?

I will not write the exact answers to this problem. I think you can figure how to write it out yourselves.

Harman [31]

Answer:

6.24

Step-by-step explanation:

A= 18.42g, B = 5.8g,C = 0.75g

Total = 18.42 + 5.8 + 0.75

= 24.97g

Then divided into four equal parts

= 24.97g/4

= 6.2425g

= 6.24g

What is the volume of a cone that has a radius of 4 cm and a height of 9 cm?
vodka [1.7K]
For any sort of pyramid or cone, the volume is 1/3 of the volume of a prism with the same base and height. Since the volume of a prism/cylinder is V=Bh, the volume of a pyramid/cone is V=\frac{1}3Bh.

In this case, our base is a circle, which has a radius of 4 cm.
The area of a circle is A=\pi r^2 where r is the radius.
A=\pi (4)^2=\pi (4\times4)=16\pi=B

We now know that our base is 16π cm.
We also know that our height is 9 cm.
Let's plug these into our volume formula.

V=\frac{1}3\times16\pi \times9

Use 3.14 to approximate pi as the question states. 16 × 3.14 = 50.24.

V\approx\frac{1}3\times50.24\times9

We could punch all of that into our calculator to get the same answer, but since 1/3 of 9 is clearly 3, let's just go with that.

V\approx3\times50.24

\boxed{V\approx150.72\ cm^3}
