A projectile is launched at an angle 60° to the horizontal
Katena32 [7]

Explanation:

We have,

A projectile is launched at an angle 60° to the horizontal  with some initial speed 45 m/s.

The cliff is 265 m high.

(A) The final velocity of the projectile is given by :

v_f^2-v_i^2=2gs\\\\v_f^2=2gs+v_i^2\\\\v_f^2=2\times 9.8\times 265+45^2\\\\v_f=84.96\ m/s

(B) The maximum height of the projectile is given by :

H=\dfrac{v_i^2\sin^2\theta}{2g}\\\\H=\dfrac{45^2\times \sin^2(60)}{2\times 9.8}\\\\H=77.48\ m

(C) The  horizontal range of the motion is given by :

R=\dfrac{v_i^2\sin 2\theta}{g}\\\\R=\dfrac{(45)^2\times \sin 2(60)}{9.8}\\\\R=178.94\ m

Whats the purpose of resolving it to x and y components
Svetlanka [38]
The x component of the force on an incline plane is m*g*cos(theta) and the y component is mg*sin(theta). The normal force or x component, keeps the object in contact with the plane, and the y component of the force is so we can solve speed, acceleration, distance travelled, etc for the object using conservation of energy.

Hope this helps. Any questions please just ask. Thank you.

A singly ionized (one electron removed) 40K atom passes through a velocity selector consisting of uniform perpendicular electric
Mazyrski [523]

Answer:

(a) 112.5 V/m

(b) 0.01494 T

Explanation:

velocity, v = 4.5 km/s = 4500 m/s

magnetic field, B = 2.5 x 10^-2 T

mass, m = 6.64 x 10^-26 kg

charge, q = 1.6 x 10^-19 C = 1.6 x 10^-19 C

(a) The force due to the magnetic field is balanced by the force due to the electric field

q E = B q v

E = B v = 2.5 x 10^-2 x 4500 = 112.5 V/m

(b) radius, r = 12.5 cm

r = \frac{mv}{B'q}

B' = \frac{mv}{qr}

B' = \frac{6.64\times10^{-26}\times4500}{1.6\times 10^{-19}\times 0.125}

B' = 0.01494 T

If you sit on a skateboard and push against a brick wall, what would happen? Why do you think this?
Troyanec [42]

Answer:

well when if you are sitting down and then push off of the brick wall you will be backwards so you can't see anything so you might hit someone or something so you would have to be careful

Explanation:

the reason why i think this is because i have a brother who skateboard and he wants to help me get better and when we are just playing we sit down on the skateboard and push off things and ran into a pole because i was backwards and wasn't paying attention so that's why i think that

Does a can opener make work easier by increasing force, increasing distance, or changing direction?
ivann1987 [24]

A can opener makes work easier by increasing force.

Explanation

Technically a can opener is a simple lever that increases the force with which we remove the cap of the can. Levers are rod shaped objects with fulcrum at one end and the length of the lever has a positive impact on the force.

considering  the equation

work=force*distance

indicates that increasing the length of the lever/can opener increases the work done by it.
