How does specific heat and heat transfer relate to remote islands
Vladimir79 [104]
Heat capacity is the ability of a material to store heat, higher the heat capacity higher the amount to heat stored by the material. Heat transfer usually varies inversely with heat capacity, i.e heat transfer will decrease with increase in heat capacity and vice versa. Thermal diffusivity is the ratio of thermal conductivity to the heat capacity, it says how fast (or slow) heat is transferred inside a material. Usually thermal diffusivity is directly proportional to the heat transfer rate, since heat capacity appears on the denominator, heat transfer is inversely proportional to the heat capacity.

Before bonding, the atom’s electrons spend most of their time ___________________ the nuclei of each atom.
Ket [755]

Answer:

Around.

Explanation:

A chemical formula helps scientists to show or illustrate the type and number of atoms present in a particular molecule or compound by using numerical subscript, ions and atomic symbol of a chemical element.

This ultimately implies that, a chemical formula is used to describe or denote the exact amount of atoms that make up a molecule or compound.

The type of bond which is formed when the atoms of a chemical element are sharing electrons is known as covalent bond. Thus, when two (2) atoms of a chemical element comes close together, the nucleus of one of the atom attracts the other atom's electrons.

However, before bonding takes place, the atom's electrons spend most of their time around the nuclei of each atom.

Ethanol has a Kb of 1.22 °C/m and usually boils at 78.4 °C. How many mol of an nonionizing solute would need to be added to 48.8
Galina-37 [17]

Answer:

0.272 mol

Explanation:

∆Tb = m × Kb

∆Tb = 85.2°C - 78.4°C = 6.8°C

Kb = 1.22°C/m

mass of ethanol = 48.80 g = 48.80/1000 = 0.0488 kg

Let the moles of non-ionizing solute be y

m (molality) = y/0.0488

6.8 = y/0.0488 × 1.22

y = 6.8×0.0488/1.22 = 0.272 mol

How do rockets change direction in space
UNO [17]
3rd: Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. So the third law basically says that if you shoot out stuff in one direction you will move in the other direction. This is howrockets work in a vacuum. They have a source of fuel which is heated up so that it expands and is pushed out of the rocket.

Hope this helps a little... ^^
