What is storage of energy

Physics

Hey,

Storage of energy is known as potential energy. If you take a spring for example, and you stretch it then you hold it, it has the energy you put into it but it is potential since it's not moving. Of course once you let go of it its potential energy turns into kinetic energy.

There are other examples as well, such as a battery. I decided to use the spring example because it is simpler.

I hope it helped.

I wrote all that^.

Two conducting spheres are each given a charge Q. The radius of the larger sphere is three times greater than that of the smalle
Vinil7 [7]

Answer:

1/9 of that just outside the smaller sphere

Explanation:

The electric field strength produced by a charged sphere outside the sphere itself is equal to that produced by a single point charge:

E=k\frac{Q}{r^2}

where

k is the Coulomb's constant

Q is the charge on the sphere

r is the distance from the centre of the sphere

Calling R the radius of the first sphere, the electric field just outide the surface of the first sphere is

E_0=k\frac{Q}{R^2}

The second sphere has a radius which is 3 times that of the smaller sphere:

R'=3R

So, the electric field just outside the second sphere is

E'=k\frac{Q}{R'^2}=k\frac{Q}{(3R)^2}=\frac{1}{9}(k\frac{Q}{R^2})=\frac{E_0}{9}

So, the correct answer is 1/9.

A current of 2.0 A flows through a circuit containing a motor with a resistance of 12 ohm how much energy is converted if the mo
bearhunter [10]

The energy converted is 48 Joules

<h3>How to determine the energy</h3>

We have the formula for energy in a circuit as

Energy = Power × time

Power = I^2 R

Current, I = 2.0 A

time = 1 minute

Resistance = 12 Ohm

Substitute into the formula

Power = 2 × 2 × 12

Power = 48 Watts

Energy = 48 × 1

Energy = 48 Joules

Thus, the energy converted is 48 Joules

MGS and later orbiters found spectral evidence for what minerals on the Martian surface? Check all that apply.
slamgirl [31]

Mars Global Surveyors (MGS) and later orbiters found the following  minerals on the  Martian surface;

  • Phyllosilicates
  • Carbonate
  • Sulfates
  • Iron oxide

The Mars Global Surveyors (MGS) and later orbiters suggest that the Martian crust contains a higher percentage of volatile elements such as Sulphur and chlorine than the Earth's crust does.

These scientists also conclude that the most abundant chemical elements  in the Martian crust are those found in Igneous rock.

These elements include the following;

  • Silicon,
  • Oxygen,
  • Iron,
  • Magnesium,
  • Aluminum,
  • Calcium, and
  • Potassium.

They also, suggest that hydrogen is found in ice (water) while carbon is found in carbon dioxide and carbonates.

From the given options the minerals found in Martian surface include;

  • Phyllosilicates ------ these are sheet of silicate minerals
  • Carbonate
  • Sulfates
  • iron oxide
