In Problems 1-8, determine the level of measurement of each variable.
lbvjy [14]

The level of measurement of each given variable are:

1. Ordinal

2. Nominal

3. Ratio

4. Interval

5. Ordinal

6. Nominal

7. Ratio

8. Interval

Level of measurement is used in assigning measurement to variables depending on their attributes.

There are basically four (4) levels of measurement (see image in the attachment):

1. Nominal: Here, values are assigned to variables just for naming and identification sake. It is also used for categorization.

  • Examples of variables that fall under the measurement are: Favorite movie, Eye Color.

2. Ordinal: This level of measurement show difference between variables and the direction of the difference. In order words, it shows magnitude or rank among variables.

  • Examples of such variables that fall under this are: highest degree conferred, birth order among siblings in a family.

3. Interval Scale: this third level of measurement shows magnitude, a known equal difference between variables can be ascertain. However, this type of measurement has no true zero point.

  • Examples of the variables that fall here include: Monthly temperatures, year of birth of college students

4. Ratio Scale: This scale of measurement has a "true zero". It also has every property of the interval scale.

  • Examples are: ages of children, volume of water used.

Therefore, the level of measurement of each given variable are:

1. Ordinal

2. Nominal

3. Ratio

4. Interval

5. Ordinal

6. Nominal

7. Ratio

8. Interval

In a group of 28 students, 12 study both Art and Biology.
MAVERICK [17]

Answer:

100%

Step-by-step explanation:

Use conditional probability:

P(B | A) = P(B and A) / P(A)

P(B | A) = (12/28) / P(A)

We need to find the probability that a student studies art.

P(A or B) = P(A) + P(B) − P(A and B)

24/28 = P(A) + (12+12)/28 − 12/28

P(A) = 12/28

P(B | A) = (12/28) / (12/28)

P(B | A) = 1

What this means is that all of the students who study art also study biology.

Please help me in this question.
snow_lady [41]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

(i) Area of ABCD = (base1+base2)*height/2

                           = (6+12)*4/2 = 36 cm2

(ii) Volume = Area of ABCD * length = 36 * 25 = 900 cm3

(iii) Total SA = Area of ABCD *2 + 25*5*2 + 6*25 + 12*25

                    = 72 + 250 + 150 + 300

                    = 772cm2

Jack and Jill live 126 km apart. They want to leave their homes at the same time,
Digiron [165]

Answer:

Both will leave their homes to meet on time at 9 am

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as, Distance between Jack and Jill = 126 km

Speed of Jack rides = 18 kilometers per hours

Speed of Jill rides = 24 kilometers per hours

Let the distance travel by Jack = x km

And the distance travel by Jill = (126 - x ) km

Time taken by Jack and Jill = T hours

Now , Distance = Speed × Time

So, x = 18 × T

And 126 - x = 24 × T

Or,    126 - x =  24 × \frac{x}{18}

Or,    126 - x =  x × \frac{4}{3}

Or, 378 - 3x = 4x

Or, 378 = 7x

i.e x = \frac{378}{7} = 54 km

And distance travel by Jill = 126 - 54 = 72 km

So, time taken by Jack = \frac{x}{18} = \frac{54}{18}

Or, Time taken by Jack = 3 hours

Similarly Time take by Jill = \frac{72}{24} = 3 hours

∵ Both Jack and Jill will take 3 hours to meet at 12 : 00 pm

Hence, Both will leave their homes to meet on time at 9 am Answer
