The flywheel in the shape of a solid cylinder of mass 75.0 kg and diameter 1.40 m rotates about an axis passing through the cent
Anni [7]

The torque required for the cylinder is 76.99 N m.

What is torque?

Torque may be defined as the product of the force and the distance perpendicular to the force from the axis of rotation.

Calculation of the angular acceleration:

The first kinematic equation for the rotational motion is,

ω=ω₀+αt

where ω₀ is the initial angular velocity, ω is the final angular velocity, α is the angular acceleration and t is the time. Since the cylinder starts from the rest, its initial angular velocity is zero.

Here, ω=320 rev/min or ω=320*2π/60 rad/sec, ω₀=0 and t=8.00 sec. Put these values in the above equation and solve it to get the value of angular acceleration.

320*2π/60=0+α*8

α=320*2π/(8*60)

α=4.19 rad/s^2

Calculation of the torque:

The torque T is given by the formula,

T=Iα

where I is the moment of inertia.

For the cylinder, I=1/2*mr^2

where m is the mass of the cylinder and r is the radius of the cylinder.

So,

T=1/2*mr^2*α

Here m=75 kg, radius r is half of the diameter r=1.4/2=0.7 m, and α=4.19 rad/s^2. Using these values in the formula of torque.

T=1/2*(75)*(0.7)^2*4.19

T= 76.99 N m

In this schematic, the total resistance is 50 ohms. 100 ohms. 1,000 ohms. 100 ohms 10,000 ohms
Mrrafil [7]

The total resistance of the given circuit is if the circuit contains 100ohms,1000 ohms,100 ohms and 10,000 ohms resistors.

Resistance is measured in ohms, and it is represented by the Greek letter omega (Ω). Ohms are named after Georg Simon Ohm (1784-1854), a German physicist who concentrated on the connection between voltage, current and resistance. He is credited for planning Ohm's Regulation.

Resistance estimations are regularly taken to demonstrate the state of a part or a circuit.

  • The higher the resistance, the lower the ongoing current. On the off chance that strangely high, one potential reason (among many) could be harmed guides because of consuming or erosion.
  • The lower the obstruction, the higher the ongoing stream. Potential causes: protectors harmed by dampness or overheating.

Since resistors are connected in series, so we know that when resistors are connected in series, total resistance is given by the formula

Rₙ=R₁+R₂+R₃+---------------Rₙ

So, resistors value are 50 ohms. 100 ohms. 1,000 ohms. 100 ohms 10,000 ohms.

Therefore, total resistance is 50+100+1000+100+10000=10250ohm

Hence, total resistance is 10250ohm

A wheel is rotating at 30.0 rpm. The wheel then accelerates uniformly to 50.0 rpm in 10.0 seconds. Determine the – a) rate of an
Mademuasel [1]

Answer:

The angular acceleration is 0.209\ rad/s^2

Explanation:

Given that,

Angular velocity, \omega_{i} = 30.0\ rpm

Angular velocity, \omega_{f} = 50.0\ rpm

Time t = 10.0 sec

We need to calculate the angular acceleration

Using formula of angular acceleration

\alpha=\dfrac{\Delta \omega}{\Delta t}

\alpha=\dfrac{\omega_{f}-\omega_{i}}{\Delta t}

\alpha=\dfrac{50.0-30.0}{10.0}

Now, we change the angular velocity in rad/s.

\omega=20\times\dfrac{2\pi}{60}

\omega=2.09\ rad/s

\alpha=\dfrac{2.09}{10.0}

\alpha=0.209\ rad/s^2

Hence, The angular acceleration is 0.209\ rad/s^2

Belly-flop Bernie dives from atop a tall flagpole into a swimming pool below. His potential energy at the top is 7000 J (relativ
elena55 [62]

Answer:

KE₂ = 6000 J

Explanation:

Given that

Potential energy at top U₁= 7000 J

Potential energy at bottom U₂= 1000 J

The kinetic energy at top ,KE₁= 0 J

Lets take kinetic energy at bottom level =  KE₂

Now from energy conservation

U₁+ KE₁= U₂+ KE₂

Now by putting the values

U₁+ KE₁= U₂+ KE₂

7000+ 0 = 1000+ KE₂

KE₂ = 7000 - 1000 J

KE₂ = 6000 J

Therefore the kinetic energy at bottom is 6000 J.
