Answer:

The second and third line are wrong

Step-by-step explanation:

(4x³ +4x²-8x) -(8x²-16x+4)

= 4x³ +4x²-8x - 8x²+ 16x -4

= 4x³ +4x²- 8x²-8x+ 16x -4

= 4x³ -4x²+ 8x -4

In the second line:

it has to be +16x because - times - is +

it is like -1*(8x²-16x+4)

In the third line:

you can only add or subtract the xs with the same exponentation, so

4x²- 8x² and -8x+ 16x

4x²- 8x²= -4x² not +12x²

A student needs to select 3 books from 3 different mathematics, 3 different physics and 1 history books. What is the probability
Gnesinka [82]

Answer:

Probability that one of them is mathematics and other two are either physics or history books = 0.51

Step-by-step explanation:

Given - A student needs to select 3 books from 3 different mathematics, 3 different physics and 1 history books.

To find - What is the probability one of them is mathematics and other two are either physics or history books ?

Solution -

Given that,

A student needs to select 3 books from 3 different mathematics, 3 different physics and 1 history books.

So,

Total number of books = 3 + 3 + 1 = 7

The student has to select 3 books

So, Total number of ways = ^{7} C_{3} = 35

So,

Probability that one of them is mathematics and other two are either physics or history books is -

= \frac{^{3} C_{1}. ^{4} C_{2}  }{^{7} C_{3}}

= \frac{(3)(6)}{35}

= \frac{18}{35}

= 0.51

⇒Probability that one of them is mathematics and other two are either physics or history books = 0.51

A clothing business finds there is a linear relationship between the number of shirts, n, it can sell and the price, p, it can c
Vitek1552 [10]

Answer:

p = -0.004n+34

Step-by-step explanation:

The slope of the linear equation can be found by using the two given points (30, 1000) and (22, 3000):

m = \frac{p_1-p_0}{n_1-n_0}= \frac{30-22}{1000-3000}\\m=-0.004

Applying the point (30, 1000) to the general form of a linear equation with m =-0.004, gives us the linear relationship between price (p) and number of shirts (n):

(p-p_0) = m(n-n_0)\\p-30=-0.004(n-1000)\\p=-0.004n+34

How do i find the slope-<br> 20 points answer!<br> [imagine below included!]
Dafna11 [192]

Answer:

3/3 = 1

Step-by-step explanation:

The slope formula is..

Pick two formulas. Let's do (-5, -2) and (-2, 1)

x1  y1   x2 y2

(-5, -2)   (-2, 1)

\frac{1-(-2)}{-2-(-5)}    =   \frac{3}{3}  = 1

It'll work the same thing for (-2, 1) and (1,4)...

3/3 or 1 is a pattern between the points.
