Since there is no picture available, I provided my own example. Suppose we want to find the quantum numbers for the encircled electron shown. Draw the electronic configuration first. Next, the first quantum number n is 2 because is is located in the 2p shell. The second quantum number is 1 because the designated quantum number for the p subshell is 1. s subshell is 0, p is 1, d is 2 and f is 3. The third quantum number is 0 because it is in the middle 'box'. The middle is always 0, then counts to 1 (and so forth) to the right or -1 (and so forth) to the left. Finally, the last quantum number is +1 because it is spinning upwards. If it were downwards, it would be -1.

Hence, the quantum number for the specified electron is: 2, 1, 0, 1.

Why is the liquid oxygen machine producing less liquid oxygen than normal?
natita [175]

Answer:

Liquid oxygen evaporates at only a slightly higher temperature than liquid nitrogen because they have similarly low attraction between molecules. This would mean less liquid oxygen is coming out of tank 3 because some of it is evaporating as a gas instead.

Calculate the mass of calcium carbide produced if 1770 kJ of heat is absorbed.
Flauer [41]

Answer:

m=243.72g

Explanation:

Hello,

For the given chemical reaction:

CaO(s) + 3 C(s) \rightarrow CaC_2(s) + CO(g)

Whose heat of reaction is 464.8 kJ/mol which means that energy is absorbed due to the chemical reaction, we can compute the moles of calcium carbide via the following relationship:

n=\frac{1770kJ}{464.8 kJ/mol}\\ \\n=3.81mol

Then, since the molar mass of calcium carbide is 64 g/mol, the yielded mass turns out:

m=3.81mol*\frac{64g}{1mol}\\ \\m=243.72g

Best regards.
