Answer:

C. 22N

Explanation: Note that we are considering a uniform beam XY which implies that it will be evenly divided. That is the weight will be in between.

One of the laws of equilibrium states that the sum forces across the clockwise moment = sum of forces across the anticlockwise moment

Hence from the diagram we have

(8×50)+(4×10) = 20 × X

400+40 = 20X

440 = 20X

X = 440/20

X = 22N

Hence the answer is option C which is 22N

If an object aquires additional energy, it is also aquiring additional: a) taxes b) vitamins c) mass d) pressure e) buoyancy
ludmilkaskok [199]

Answer:

Option c) mass

Explanation:

With the increase in energy in energy of an object there will be an increase in its mass.

Also from Einstein's mass-energy equivalence,

E = mc^{2}

where

m = mass of the object

c = speed of the object (usually speed of light or close to it)

which states that energy and mass are inter convertible.

From which it can be concluded that if an object acquires additional energy, it also acquires additional mass.

.A 0.6 kg basketball is thrown straight up at a velocity of 4 m/s. What is the initial kinetic energy of the basketball?
motikmotik

Answer:

the initial kinetic energy of the basket ball is 4.8 J

Explanation:

The computation of the initial kinetic energy of the basket ball is shown below:

As we know that

Initial kinetic energy is

= \frac{1}{2}mv^2 \\\\= \frac{1}{2}\times 0.6 \times (4m/s)^2\\\\= \frac{1}{2}\times 0.6 \times 16m/s^2\\\\= 4.8 J

Hence, the initial kinetic energy of the basket ball is 4.8 J

A lumberjack is chopping wood with an ax. How does the ax make the lumberjack's job easier? A. The ax is heavy so it can split w
zhenek [66]

Answer: B

Explanation:

A machine multiplies the work output of a something by some amount. In this question, the ax is the machine. Thus, the ax is multiplying the work outputted by the lumberjack, so the answer is B. The reason it is not C is because there could be other forces interacting on the wood which the ax can affect.
