A scientist watched a desert lizard stand in the rain. It spread its legs stretching its body wide, while holding its head and t

ail down. It kept opening and closing its mouth. He observed that the lizard repeated the behavior during each rainstorm. What is most likely the scientist's hypothesis after observing the lizard in the desert.

Answer:

Hypothesis:

When a scientist see lizard behaving in this way in each rainystrom in the desert, he can make a hypothesis about the lizard’s way of drinking water. He can say that lizard spread its legs to wide body. In this way it catches and carry water in microscopic channels on its body. These channels lead water to its mouth and it drinks this water by opening and closing mouth continuously.

A car is being tested on a track. The driver approaches the test section at a speed of 28 m s−1. He then accelerates at a unifor
dedylja [7]

The uniform acceleration of the car is 4.485 m/s².

Acceleration of the car

The uniform acceleration of the car is calculated as follows;

v² = u² + 2as

a = (v² - u²)/2s

where;

  • v is final velocity = 41 m/s
  • u is initial velocity = 28 m/s
  • s is distance = 100 m
  • a is acceleration = ?

a = (41² - 28²)/(2 x 100)

a = 4.485 m/s²

Thus, the uniform acceleration of the car is 4.485 m/s².

A cylindrical wire made of an unknown alloy hangs from a support in the ceiling. You measure the relaxed length of the wire to b
IceJOKER [234]

Answer: hello some of your values are wrongly written hence I will resolve your question using the right values

answer:

stiffness =  1.09 * 10^-6 N/m

Explanation:

Given data:

Length ( l ) = 16 m

radius of wire ( r ) = 3.5 m

mass ( m ) = 5kg

Distance stretched (  Δl ) = 4 * 10^-3 m  ( right value )

average bond length ( between atoms ) = 2.3 * 10^-10 m ( right value)

first step : calculate the area

area ( A ) = πr^2 = π * ( 3.5)^2 = 38.48 m^2

        γ          = MgL / A Δl

                    = [ (5 * 9.81 * 16 ) / ( 38.48 * (4.3*10^-3) ) ]

                    = 784.8 / 0.165 = 4756.36 N/m^2

hence : stiffness =   γ  * bond length

                           =  4756.36 * 2.3 * 10^-10  = 1.09 * 10^-6 N/m
