standard form. Ax+By=C. what is c, how do i find the slope, how do i find the x intercept, how do i find the y intercept. can you please give a simple example?

C represents the y-intercept (the “b” in slope intercept form) to find the slope, you simply change it to slope intercept form ( move the Ax to the other side of the equation and divide by B *whatever number is attached to the y that you need to get rid of to get y alone*) to find the x intercept, you replace y with a zero (this is because you don’t want to find y so you are taking it away from the equation so you are left with Ax=c) and you divide A by c to get x alone (bc a is attached to the x so you divide to get rid of it) and the same process for y-intercept. except you are placing the zero in the x rather than the y.

sample example:
2x+6y=12
finding the slope:
6y=-2x+12
(divide by 6)
y=-2/6+2
slope= -2/6

y intercept:
2x+6y=12
2(0)+6y=12
6y=12
(divide by 6)
y=2

x-intercept

2x+6y=12
2x+6(0)=12
2x=12
(divide by 2)
x=6
