The physical state of CaBr2 at room temperature? Predict the two other properties of CaBr2 Deduce the charge of ion Ca in the co
Fofino [41]

Answer:

CaBr2 is a colorless solid and the charge on Calcium is +2

Explanation:

CaBr2 is a colorless solid at room temperature.

Other properties include -

a) It is a crystalline solid

b) Melting point of 765°C.

c) It is deliquescent

d) Soluble in water and absolute alcohol.

The charge of Br is -1. Here two atoms of Br attaches with one atom of calcium. Hence the charge of calcium is +2

Fatty acid with only single covalent bonds is said to be
ohaa [14]
These are known to be saturated.
The definition of a saturated fatty acid is that the carbon chain coming off of the acid group contains only single bonds.  An unsaturated fatty acid contains at least one double bond in the carbon chain coming off of the acid group.  Saturated fats are usually fats (solid at room temperature) while unsaturated fats can be oils (liquid at room temperature) this is because the single bonds in the saturated fats give the molecule a shape that can stack on another saturated fat molecule more easily which makes the melting points higher.  The double bonds (usually referring to cis double bonds since trans double bonds are in trans fats) in unsaturated fats give the molecule a shape that cannot stack on another unsaturated fat molecule easily which makes the melting point lower.

I hope this helps.  Please let me know if anything is unclear or if you want further explanation.

I need help with the solution
Y_Kistochka [10]

Answer:

1

Explanation:

The empirical formula describes the simplest whole number ratio of each type of atom in a compound. To find this formula, you need to (1) convert grams of each element to moles (via their atomic masses) and then (2) find the ratio of each element (by dividing each molar value by the smallest mole value).

(Step 1)

Atomic Mass (Zn): 65.380 g/mol

Atomic Mass (C): 12.011 g/mol

Atomic Mass (O): 15.998 g/mol

10.40 grams Zn              1 mole
------------------------  x  ------------------------  =  0.159 moles Zn
                                   65.380 grams

1.92 grams C               1 mole
---------------------  x  -----------------------  =  0.160 moles C
                                 12.011 grams

7.68 grams O               1 mole
----------------------  x  ------------------------  =  0.480 moles O
                                 15.998 grams

(Step 2)

0.159 moles Zn / 0.159  =  1 atom Zn

0.160 moles C / 0.159  =  1 atom C

0.480 moles O / 0.159  =  3 atom O

The empirical formula is Zn₁C₁O₃. Therefore, the value that should be in the space is 1.
