5. Describe the relationship between frequency and wavelength.
Flura [38]

<u>Frequency is the number of waves that passes at a given point every second.</u> The lower the frequency, the less waves there are. The higher the frequency, the more waves. <u>A wavelength is the distance between two frequency waves. </u>The higher the frequency, the less distance from two waves. The lower the frequency, the longer distance from two waves.

Consider a 40,000 km steel pipe in the shape of a ring that fits snuggly all around the circumference of the Earth. We are heati
Tatiana [17]

Answer:

The Height is  H = 70.02 m

Explanation:

We are given that the

                         Initial length is  = 40000\ Km = 40,000 *10^{3} m

from what we are told in the question the circumference of the circle is = 40,000 Km

  This means that the Radius would be :

         Let C denote the circumference

      So

               C = 2 \pi r

      =>     r = \frac{C}{2 \pi}

               r = \frac{40,000}{2 \pi } = \frac{40,000*10^{3}}{2 *3.142}  = 6.365*10^6 m

We are told that 1-meter bar of steel that increases its temperature by 1 degree C will expand 11*10^{-6} meters

Hence

       The final length would be

                            40000*10^3 *(T + \alpha  )

Where T is the change in  temperature  \alpha is the Coefficient of linear expansion for steel

  let L_{final} denote the final length

   So

        L_{final} =40000*10^{6} *[1+ 11*10^{-6}]

                  = 40000440 \ m

 Now the Height is mathematically represented as

         Height(H) \ = \frac{change \ in \ radius \ }{2 \pi}

                       = \frac{(40000440-40000*10^3)}{2*3.142}

                       = 70.02m

I am absolutely sure that the<span> statement which best describes the properties of the Indian Ocean tsunami is the first option from the scale : </span>They had a large amplitude and short wavelength. I choose this one because there is main point - the shorter its length, the greater both  frequency and energy. Hope it's clear! Regards!

Water pollution that elevates the temperature of the water
juin [17]

Answer:

An increase in the air temperature will cause water temperatures to increase as well. As water temperatures increase, water pollution problems will increase, and many aquatic habitats will be negatively affected.

Explanation:

Lower levels of dissolved oxygen due to the inverse relationship that exists between dissolved oxygen and temperature. As the temperature of the water increases, dissolved oxygen levels decrease.

Increases in pathogens, nutrients and invasive species.

Increases in concentrations of some pollutants such as ammonia and pentachlorophenol due to their chemical response to warmer temperatures.

Increase in algal blooms (Photo of algal blooms).

Loss of aquatic species whose survival and breeding are temperature dependent.

Change in the abundance and spatial distribution of coastal and marine species and decline in populations of some species.

Increased rates of evapotranspiration from waterbodies, resulting in shrinking of some waterbodies such as the Great Lakes.
