Answer:

y(x) = 7e^(5x)

Step-by-step explanation:

The question says that the slope of the curve at every point P is five times the y-coordinate of P. This means that

dy/dx = 5y

Refer to solutions of differential equations, dy/dt = ky, being in the form of y(t) = y(0) e^(kt)

Using the above stated law now, we can relate to our equation, saying that

y(x) = y(0) e^(5x)

The point given from the question is, (0, 7). This also means that y(0) = 7. So finally, we can have

y(x) = 7e^(5x)

And that is our needed equation of the curve

Is it possible for two different numbers, when squared, to give the same result?
lawyer [7]

Actually, yes, it is possible for two different numbers to give the same result when squared.

In my last answer, I wrote that it wasn't, but I realize now where my mistake was made.

When a number like positive 4 is squared, the answer is 16. When a number like negative 4 is squared, the answer is also 16. I think that the only time when two different squared numbers have the same result is when they are the same number but have a different positive/negative sign.

I hope this helps.

Answer:

The independent variable is time, and the dependent variable is distance.

Step-by-step explanation:

The description tells you "the equation ... relate[s] the total distance, d, in miles to the time, t ...". This description, together with the fact that the equation is written "d = ..." tells you that "d" (distance) is the dependent variable, and "t" (time) is the independent variable.
