Answer:

It would be Choice A, x = 7

Step-by-step explanation:

So with this, it wants for you to factor out x^2-8x+7.

Since we already have one of the factors, (x-1), this removes most of the work with it. The task is to find the second factor.

With this, the FOIL method is needed. First, Outer, Inner, and Last of each factor are multiplied. Note that the ending numbers of the factor should multiply to give the final number of the standard form. Also, the middle value of the standard form should be the addition of each of the numbers * the x value.

Choice A:

x^2 – 8x + 7

(x-1)(x-7)

Choice A is correct as it follows the rules given above.

Choice B:

x^2 – 8x + 7

(x-1)(x+7)

Choice B is incorrect, because it would be x^2+6x-7 if FOIL is done.

Choice C:

x^2 – 8x + 7

(x-1)(x+8)

Choice C is incorrect, because it would be x^2+7x-8 if FOIL is done.

Seven less than the product of a number n and 1/6 is no more than 94
antiseptic1488 [7]

Answer:

 • n ≤ 606

Step-by-step explanation:

Seven less than the product of a number n and 1/6 is no more than 94, translating:

 • n*1/6 - 7 ≤ 94

Solving for n:

 • n/6 ≤ 94 + 7
 • n/6 ≤ 101
 • n ≤ 101*6
 • n ≤ 606

A and b are positive integers. Find <img src="https://tex.z-dn.net/?f=-2a%2B3b" id="TexFormula1" title="-2a+3b" alt="-2a+3b" ali
lord [1]

A could be 2 while B could be 3, so -2a+3b turns into -4+9, which equals 5.

From what I know you can't really solve a a single equation with two-variables so it's just a matter of trial and error.

Just try plugging in a small number like 2 for a just to try it and you get 8b^2=72.

Divide everything by 8 to isolate b and you get that b^2=9.

Square root everything and you'll find that b=3. This is just one possible combination, I'm sure there are many more but this is obviously the one that was intended to be found.

Now that we know that a=2 and b=3 just plug them into the equation.

-2(2)+3(3)=?

-4+9=?

5

Sorry about having to use this ^ symbol, the equation maker is not working.
