Answer;

16 protons means it is sulfur, S.

Mass number 16 + 16 = 32

18 - 16 = 2 excess electrons, so net charge = 2-

Explanation;

The atomic number of an atom is the number of protons.The atomic mass or the mass number is the sum of the protons and neutrons in an atomic nucleus. It determines the atomic mass of atoms.

The net charge is the difference between the number of protons, which have positive charges, and electrons, which have negative charges.

The atoms of different elements have different numbers of protons. For example, all oxygen atoms have 8 protons and all sodium atoms have 11 protons.

What is the total number of sp2-hybridized carbon atoms present in the fluorophore used in the experiments
Mandarinka [93]

Answer:

9

Explanation:

The structure of fluorophore used in the experiments has been drawn in the attachment. And from the drawing counting we can say that there are 9 sp2-hybridized carbon atoms present. Fiuorophores are a fluorescent chemical compound that can re-emit light upon light excitation. Normally used to produce absorbance and emission spectra.

What steps would you take in a lab to prepare 1000 mL of a 2 M NaCl solution
amm1812

Answer:

The answer to your question is below

Explanation:

Data

Volume = 1000 ml

Concentration = 2M

molecule = NaCl

Process

1.- Calculate the number of moles of NaCl

Molarity = moles/Volume

-Solve for volume

moles = Molarity x Volume (liters)

-Substitution

moles = 2 x 1

-Result

moles = 2

2.- Determine the molar mass of NaCl

NaCl = 23 + 35.5 = 58.5 g

3.- Calculate the mass of NaCl to prepare the solution

               58.5 g -----------------  1mol

                   x      -----------------  2 moles

                       x = (2 x 58.5) / 1

                       x = 117g

4.- Weight 117 g of NaCl, place them in a volumetric flask (1 l), and add enough water to prepare the solution.
