Answer:

See explanation

Explanation:

Crystallization is a separation technique used to obtain pure crystals of a substance from an impure mixture of solid substances.

The impure solid is dissolved in an appropriate hot solvent. This hot solvent is able to effectively dissolve the solid. However, as the solution is allowed to cool, the pure solid separates out of the solution as crystals.

The solid is now filtered to obtain the pure solid. The solid is also washed and dried to remove any solvent contaminant.

The net force on an object that is accelerating at a rate of 4 m/sec is 255 N. What is the mass of the object in kg?
aleksklad [387]

Answer:

Given - acc = 4 m/ s^2

Force = 255 N

To find = mass

Solution -

Using the formula,

f = m \times a

255 = Mass × 4

255 /4 = Mass

63.75 = Mass

1 N = kg m/s^2

63.75 kg = Mass

Uranium-232 has a half-life of 68.8 years. After 344.0 years, how much uranium-232 will remain from a 100.0-g sample?
amm1812

Answer:  3.13 g

Explanation:

Radioactive decay follows first order kinetics.

Half-life of uranium-232 = 68.8 years

\lambda =\frac{0.693}{t_{\frac{1}{2}}}=\frac{0.693}{68.8}= 0.010072674 year^{-1}

N=N_o\times e^{-\lambda t}

N = amount left after time t

N_0 = initial amount

\lambda = rate constant

t= time

N_0 = 100 g, t= 344 years, \lambda=0.010072674 years^{-1}

N=100\times e^{- 0.010072674 years^{-1}\times 344 years}

N=3.13g

Explain how soil can affect the composition of the solution that move through it
sertanlavr [38]

Answer: Soils are formed through the interaction of five major factors: time, climate, parent material, topography and relief, and organisms.

Soil structure affects plant growth in many, often surprising, ways. The most obvious effects are on root growth, which is strongly inhibited by hard soil, and which in turn influences the ability of the root system to extract adequate water and nutrients from the soil.
