Lizards are reptiles that are closely related to snakes. Like all reptiles, lizards have scaly skin and are ectotherms—cold-blooded animals whose body temperature varies with the temperature of their surrounding environment. Most lizards are native to the tropics, but a number of species are found in temperate regions.Chameleons, iguanas, skinks, monitors, anoles, and geckos are some of the many different types of lizards.

A number of lizard species have adapted to life in the desert. Some desert lizards have toes fringed with spiny scales to help them run across the sand without sinking. Others burrow into the sand to escape the desert's intense heat, to hide from predators, or to search for small animals that they prey upon. Some burrowing lizards even have clear scales on their eyelids that protect their eyes but still allow them to see while they move under the sand.

What is it when a cup of ice turns to water
timurjin [86]
I don't really know what your question is asking so I am just going to list a few facts that I think might be what you are asking.

Ice turning into water is a physical change.  The ice is undergoing the process of melting which does not change it chemically (ice and water are chemically identical in the sense that they are both composed of H₂O molecules) and the only difference between water and ice is that water molecules have a higher average amount of energy than the ice molecules do.  When a substance melts, the molecules within the substance gain energy (in the form of heat) which allows them to break the intermolecular forces keeping them together.  Since the melting of ice requires energy, the process is endothermic which means that the ice had to get energy from its surroundings and that water has more energy than ice does as a result of the process (ΔH is positive).

I hope that helps.  Let me know in the comments if anything is unclear or if I did not answer your question.

Which statement about the balanced equations for nuclear and chemical changes is correct? (1 point)
iris [78.8K]

The true statement about the balanced equations for nuclear and chemical changes is; both are balanced according to the total mass before and after the change.

A basic law in science is called the law of conservation of mass. Its general statement is that mass can neither be created nor destroyed.

Both in chemical and nuclear changes, mass is involved and in both cases, the law of conservation of mass strictly applies.

This means that for both chemical and nuclear changes; total mass before reaction must be equal to total mass after reaction.

Hence, both reactions are balanced according to the total mass before and after the change.
