The mitochondria provided the energy for the rest of the cell functions to work. for example, if there was no mitochondria, the nucleus wouldn’t be able to do its job just like without gas, a car won’t drive.

Think of mitochondria as batteries that give a power boost to their host cell. without mitochondria modern cell would die for lack of an adequate energy supply.
